Tickets and tacos. What more could a person want?

Great old school opening trio. Nice, noisy second quarter. Fun, poppy third quarter. Strong, rock 'n roll finish. Obviously, everything else not quoted above (Handshake Drugs, Laminated Cat, etc.) works well in the transitions between those styles. I gotta say, I think this is a pretty well-constructed set list that veers off the patterns/trappings of setlists supporting albums.

So...any thoughts on makeup of the upcoming setlists? Bust-outs and surprises? Heavy on TWL? MAYBE a Tweedy (the band) tune? NEW STUFF? Or the old workhorses.

People love to gripe about stuff, and sometimes they think bringing their struggles here will fall on sympathetic ears. Doesn't always work that way. It's just a pre-sale.

Yes, yes they are. Randall's Island night 3, Chicago night 3 and Columbia night 2 all are hot shows from this summer tour.

I second this. Pre-sales constitute a minor percentage of the total house. And often times there are BETTER seats available in the general sale. Keep calm and keep the faith. The world is not ending.

There already are perfectly clean versions of "Venus Stop the Train" out there, you know...on the YHF demos, which also features many deconstructed and alternate takes of songs.

I probably won't buy the "best of" set either, but it'll be interesting to see what material the band selects for that release - what they view as their best work.

I'd love to catch them there someday. Their 10-29-2002 performance there is a true gem - something magical about that place. Looks like Jason Isbell has three already sold-out shows there following Wilco's run.

Interesting. I wonder what else is out there that all of us hardcore fans haven't gotten our hands on yet. My "B-Sides and non-album tracks" playlist in iTunes is pretty long. Wilco can release whatever they want; but personally, if they're not putting out any new material, I'd like to hear more outtakes and studio sessions. I'd love to hear the noise jams and loose workouts through tunes that ultimately led to the final tracks. There's plenty of stuff from the YHF/AGIB era out there, but not much from AM/BT/ST. Maybe there's some stuff from that era that none of us have heard yet...

Maybe he did the ice bucket challenge, and that was just the last straw in a long string of disagreements.

Well I'd love to hop on the "bandwagon" and participate but I've yet to be nominated to do the challenge. If I were to be nominated to do this, I'd probably challenge my two older brothers - and they're not exactly what I'd call "hip" people. We're all just a bunch of regular guys. What probably annoys me more are the people like this guy I saw in a video the other day -- a total "bro" type, who poured a tiny dixie cup of water down his shorts, pulled his shirt off and chugged a beer afterward. Turned something fun and charitable into something fratty and stupid. Regardless of how you feel

I think if I were giving someone a taste I'd give them the Red-Eyed > I Got You combo, the rockin' Outtasite, Hotel Arizona, Forget the Flowers, etc., basically the meat of side 1 and maybe Someday Soon. I think to a newbie's ears the deep cuts might not resonate as much...of course I could be totally off-base here.The examples I used are good songs, but I've had time to absorb them and appreciate them. Anyhoo - off topic. I am looking forward to hearing Sukierae in its entirety and to the discussion of the record that will take place here.

Also terrible at diets. Did the pre-order, just didn't bother with the downloads. I still don't think sampling tracks out of sequence/context would give me a "feel" for the record. Think of making a Wilco newbie a Being There sampler and only including The Lonely 1, Outtamind (Sesame Street version), What's the World Got in Store, Kingpin, Someone Else's Song, Why Would You Wanna Live, Red-Eyed and Blue, and Monday. I have held out and not listened to any of the new material, except for a few listens of "I'll Sing It" and "Summer Noon" when they came out. For how personal this project is to Jeff and Spencer, I think I'll best appreciate it when I listen in the context of the full record with proper track sequencing, rather than the disjointed experience of listening to "singles" shared in advance of the official release.

Well, just be happy you're seeing two shows. That's two more than most people.

Wilco still plays "Box Full of Letters" in the same key in which it was originally recorded.

I haven't listened to enough of the new material (maybe a song or two) to offer a confident or informed opinion on the way the vocals sound on the record. I listened to Summerteeth the other day (after going on a Wilco break for about 2 months) and remembered how much I loved his vocals on that record.

Seriously - listen to Gimme Fiction in reverse order. It almost works better!
