Too many stories to even begin...I could write a book!

I cooked with a guy who used to dip his member into people's pints when they went to the bathroom. People being our fellow kitchen staff who went out together following a shift -- not customers.

I already have most of those songs from this tour. Again, keeping a thread of hope alive for some unheard or remastered older recordings...

Well, it's not whether we bring the kid or not -- we've got grandparents who would happily keep the little one while we travel -- it's the expense of getting to MA from KS, tickets, lodging, etc. I'm trying to work it out to see if we can do it and just surprise my wife. She threw me a huge surprise birthday bash for my 30th, so I've gotta do something extraordinary for hers. :-)

I so badly want to take my wife to this for her 30th birthday and our 5-year anniversary (same day), but it just might add up to be too much, especially with a baby on the way. ARGH!

Reworked version of I Got You for Judd Apatow movie

Who's singing that high harmony? Sounds like a female voice. -
Um, that's somewhat of a glaring error. This also made me laugh: "two songs by George Harrison, mediocrity incarnate..." considering "Something" and "Here Comes the Sun" are considered by many critics to be Harrison's first works that were on par with Lennon and McCartney.

"You and I" at the neighborhood pizza joint...

Not doing it for me either. Sounds like he's singing at the tempo of the recording but the drummer is way ahead of him.

The Thanksgiving Thread: Give Thanks Here!

Thanks everyone for the well-wishes on they baby, and congrats to the rest of you! These are such exciting times. I'll always treasure that old family photo -- that's me in the coonskin cap with the six-shooter. -
Remember the Yankee fans GIF? Now there's this.

It's killer! I love the hits just as much as the next person, but their deep cuts are great. Fogerty's guitar playing is *nasty* on those records.

I've got a photo just like that, and I am thankful for all the years I had with my dad too. Lost him two years ago at age 60, still miss him every day. I also am thankful for my wife, and for our first little bundle of joy that's joining the world on or around January 5th. I'm thankful for Anchor Steam beer, pecan pie, my family and my friends, all of which/whom I shall enjoy during the next several days. I'm thankful to have a job that I love, an abundance of great music to provide a soundtrack to every day, a couple of guitars to noodle around on, and for all you fine strangers on this -
Wilco song recommendations for my nephew's band?
choo-choo-charlie replied to Magnetized's topic in Just A Fan
Both great songs, but I'd almost say that they're more difficult because of the skronky, off-key soloing, which in my mind is more difficult than the classic rock riffs/licks in the earlier tunes. -
Cleaned out a box of vinyl at my wife's aunt & uncle's house, came away with these, among others.

Can't wait to hear this one.

Wilco song recommendations for my nephew's band?
choo-choo-charlie replied to Magnetized's topic in Just A Fan
I think A.M. and Being There material is best for what sounds like a good bar band. Casino Queen is a great rocker but it's sung in a very high register. A take on "I'm Always in Love" played with the tempo and energy of the version that Wilco rehearses in the IATTBYH film is also great. -
