Thanks everyone! Funny -- by the time we got around to ordering this stuff, they had actually run out of infant-size options in the Wilco store. However, we've got a big kiddo -- a potential 9 pounder on our hands, so the 3-6 M clothes might actually be worn sooner than we anticipate!

Christmas came a little bit early as these lil' beauties just arrived for my first child, who will be joining the world a week from tomorrow.

One of my college roommates unearthed this gem. It's a photo we used in a Christmas card we sent out during our last year of college. We sent it to our families, friends, professors, and even the university president. Those were the days...

Perhaps they should have more aging [good] comedians host the show.

Martin Short was terrific last night. I was in stitches during "You're a Rat Bastard, Charlie Brown" and "The Royal OBGYNs." Outstanding.

And other assorted product from a terrific little brewery right here in the heart of America.

No tickets here. Still need to book travel and lodging, which from the sounds of it has me a little scared.

He did put up some impressive numbers, some of them against challenging opponents. But the win over Alabama really jettisoned him into the spotlight. It was a great game at the right time (late in the season) that propelled him ahead when Heisman talk kicked into full gear. It was a stellar performance at a time that truly mattered. I do think it was pretty arrogant of A&M to have him kick an extra point attempt. What's more arrogant are the "Call him Johnny Heisman" billboards they put up in the territory of the other schools whose Heisman candidates didn't win.

OK, I just wrote a fairly lengthy diatribe about Mr. Manziel and the entire Heisman Trophy "event" this year, then deleted it, because I'd rather not get into it with the folks who are on the Manziel train right now. Kid had a great game at the right time, and the expectations for the seasons to follow will be HUGE. We'll see if he rises to the occasion.

Interesting. I saw her once and it was just about one of the worst things I'd heard at a live show. Maybe an off night?

I haven't found lodging yet, but I also haven't looked very hard...have been up to my neck in work lately.
