2010 MLB - Playoffs and hot stove!
The High Heat replied to Duck-Billed Catechist's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
The Cubs are keeping Mike Quade as manager, and have no plans, as of yet, to add Ryne Sandberg to the coaching staff. Sandberg feels he's ready for a big league managerial position. Those spots are filling up. He may have to take a 3B coaching job somewhere. -
Happy Birthday, Froggie!

Damn, I thought maybe he was The Iron Claw!

Isn't it that copyright protection lasts 70 years after the death of the author, even for unpublished works?

What the fuck is up with the gloves? I'm pulling for Madam Davis in this one. She knows the proper way to screw folks over.

So sorry. "Dated" was not the proper word. He had at least one unimpressive carnal visit with Sophia Rossi, according to Sophia Rossi. I'll not be providing a link for her. I'll let you find her on your own. You understand, don't you? -
He was into it, performed well actually. His band was, of course, awesome.

Once they started winning I don't think anybody real cared what Burrell was doing. It became all about Howard & Utley and righteously so. -
Dylan was energetic last night and performed well. His band is awesome! Not as many people at the show as I expected, had a lot of empty seats in the back (I realize it's a college basketball arena, but I also realize it's Bob Dylan.). Perhaps being fall break & Wake Forrest playing football not too far away in Va. had something to do with that. I'd estimate 5-6K showed up. Set list: Winston Salem, North Carolina Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum (Joel Coliseum) October 16, 2010 1. Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat 2. Don't Think Twice, It's All Right 3. Send her an Amazon list & ask her to maybe please pick out the one she thinks she wants.

I don't know hardly jack about Springsteen, but that's one damn good documentary. It's more about song, music and album production and not about a young Bob Dylan or Jay Bennett acting like twits.

I missed the game because I was at a Bob Dylan concert. What are you referring to exactly? Did Buck mention Burrell used to date a (female) porn star? -

I hope Streisand is the joke. -
Outtasite in Outback in Winston-Salem while killing time before heading off to the Bob Dylan concert!

Check for historical music locations that would appeal to Dylan in those areas. Apparently he likes to literally check out musical roots. In fact, he almost got arrested for it last year !

Yes, but the divisional series will be extended to seven games. So there will be no real difference in the calendar. -
A couple of weeks ago when I ordered tickets through Ticketmaster for this Saturday's Bob Dylan show I wanted do a will call pick up, but will call was only available for international orders.

Braves ready to announce manager Bobby Cox's replacement: Fredi Gonzalez. Worst-kept secret in baseball. -

I usually cannot tolerate Madonna, but I dig this one album by The Material Girl: -
Best part of The Last Waltz - by way far!

I can dig that, especially when you're living amongst the diehards! -
I've got tickets for my first Dylan show on the 16th in Winston-Salem. Can't wait! Haven't been able to find info on an opening act. I suppose there is no opening act?

If it were the other way around I would. If Schilling had pitched for the Yanks and not the Sox, wouldn't you be impressed with his individual performance, Yankee-hate not withstandinding? -

I'm a Phils fan, but many of my family are Reds fans because they live within an hour of Cincinnati. I say no matter about emotions, Halladay's performance was a terrific feat! This is only the second time in post season history that a no hitter was thrown. It should be celebrated as a great individual accomplishment by the best pitcher in the game, but a couple of my relatives wont even begrudgingly tip their cap to the man. I suppose they'd feel better if the Reds lost to a Roy Halladay 4-0, 5 hit shutout instead.
