Hilarious synopsis of Gin and Juice
The High Heat replied to Sweet Papa Crimbo's topic in Someone Else's Song
He very well may be, but being steeped in jazz, he loathed rock and roll. I'm sure Sullivan wasn't crazy about a lot of the young artists at the time, but he never put anybody in position to be embarassed. His camera cut Elvis off at the waist, but he let him perform in his normal way. I find Allen's attitude toward rock interesting, considering Allen's first tv gig was as an announcer for professional wrestling. -

Steve Allen is the ass who put Elvis in a tux and had him serenade a hound dog. -
His name arches from butt cheek to butt cheek. They ought to spell it out in different colors, make it look like a fucking rainbow.

Buck Showalter is on steroids. Gotta be.

XM is reporting that the Mariners have fired manager Don Wakamatsu. I remember every baseball person pronouncing him as a great baseball man with a great future - the best choice possible. The veteran players just didn't take to him this year, often butting heads with him.

My local newspaper ruffled a few feathers this morning by publishing the name of a fatal shooting victim before his family had been notified. Their source for his identity was Facebook. They have since revised the story and omitted the Facebook reference, instead citing merely "a news tip." This is the story: Fatal shooting on 10th Street. This is the revised pararagraph: "Police would not identify the victim, saying they were waiting to notify relatives. However, The Daily Reflector received a news tip identifying the victim as Tommy Falcone, 22, of Red Banks, New Jersey. His identity h

Umm...not having boobs probably hurt his cause in this particular matter.

You're screwing with my delicate sensibilities. Whatever they are.

Do we have to substitute one person for another? Can't we wonder how things would have been if someone didn't die without putting someone else in the grave instead?

And... Mark Prior isn't giving up just yet.

A-Rod a no-show for team photo. They'll have to digitally enhance his face onto a stand-in's body. Maybe they could digitally enhance his frontal lobe while they're at it.

Torii Hunter to move to RF permanently - to make room for a rookie. Wow!

Is this the sing-along show that was used in the movie Catch Me If You Can?

They should have corked it instead.

They finally got their "catcher of the future," too.

The Rangers needed a catcher. They got Molina. The Rangers needed a #1 starter. They got Lee. The Rangers needed a right-handed stick to platoon at first base. They got Cantu. The Rangers needed a 2B to fill in for the recently injured Ian Kinsler. And today they acquired Christian Guzman. Jon Daniels has come a long way since trading away Adrian Gonzalez as a rookie GM. Executive of the Year.

The Nationals signed closer Matt Capps as a non-tendered free agent after he turned down an offer from the Cubs. Yesterday the All Star Capps was traded to the Twins for a prized catching prospect. If the White Sox don't get off the schnide and make a move, Matt Capps will have burned Chicago baseball three different ways this season.

At least Buck Showalter won't have to deal with Miguel Tejada. He's been traded to San Diego.

In the early days he was. Neil Diamond would be a great name for a baseball player.

Oswalt approves deal to Philadelphia, awaiting MLB approval. Apparently Houston will pay for a large chunk of what remains on Oswalt's current deal.
