Amoebae are more efficient in their networking system than city planners. Boston sure could have saved alot of money had they known this years ago.

MLB.COM has already started advertising using the iPad for watching live baseball games, made it their "top story" actually.

That's a heavy flow iPad!

Wilco left Reprise. Should they have stayed working on that plantation, thanking them when other companies had new opportunities of progression and Reprise didn't?

I was hoping Jim Thome would sign with the Rays, but instead he has signed with the Twins.

Never air your dirty laundry to your customer/clients. Behind the scenes is a different story. Conan may have been saying "Thank you" on air, but he probably had a few "Fuck you's" during the negotiation process.

That's right, Cliff Lee makes $9M & Ben Sheets makes $10M; plus there's this:

Is anyone besides Jason Bay willing to sign with the Mets?

Put Alicia Keys on there, I'd actually tune in and watch it!

Amongst all the hubbub about Leno and Connan, we're overlooking Ferguson, who - when he takes Dave's spot in a few years, will end up as the late night king. -
I know retiring is what he wanted to do, but is it possible for an athlete to continue to compete in a professional sport and still pursue priesthood, or is that such a full-time commitment that there is no time for both? I don't much about these things. I have much respect for Desme for his decision, however. It's refreshing to know of a person, let alone an athlete, who is willing to walk away from potentially millions of dollars to pursue their passion.

I'd only consider Wilco to be sell-outs when they become regular contributors to Via Chicago. -

Geovany Soto has lost 40 pounds this offseason; waistline shrank six inches! I remember the days, not so long ago, when players used add 25 pounds in the offseason.

I had just thought before I opened this thread that I was surprised no one here had started a spin off thread under that very headline.

For awhile I was hit or miss with Bob Dylan. Now I have almost every album and dig it all, save for a few tracks.

It's good enough for Lincoln, and he freed the slaves. What'd Lennon ever really do besides sing about things he wished would happen?

So the wedding is off?

Check it out! Really. And stick with it. You really can see improvement as it goes. His novel philosophical and funny, dirty and endearing. Ferguson knows to wrap things up all together, too.

I, too, read Ferguson's novel and was very impressed with it. His writing skill obviously improved as the book went on. I have often recommended it to people, including a couple of times here on VC. He has also written a screenplay and an autobiography. The man has depth.
