MLB to give HGH tests to minor leaguers later this season.
-
A player can get permission from MLB to use legally prescribed meds. A positive test result will not result in a suspension so long as they test positive for their specific prescription that they have permission to use.

Khalil Greene is going to miss spring training due to his continuing struggle with social anxiety. It's a shame that this talented young man has fallen so far in such a short period of time. I hope he can find his way back.

Everyone as in: everyone in the front office, or does this include fans, too? Man, Antonetti turned down the Cardinals GM gig last time it was up! You know the fix is on when a job like that is refused.

The Indians announced that after this season they will promote GM Mark Shapiro to president and they will promote assisant GM Chris Antonetti to GM.

Damon would be more valuable to the Sox than the Tigers. The Tigers may be competetive, but they're probably looking at third place with or without Damon. Also, the Nationals signed former Yankee two-time 19 game winner Wang.

But doing Gran Torino as Harry Callahan would have been more lame than doing it as Walt Kowalski.

I had a half-day schedule my senior year. Come to think of it, I did the same thing in kindegarten. -
Yes! People used to ask Clint Eastwood if he'd ever revisit the Dirty Harry character. He'd ask in return, "What would a senior citizen Harry Callahan do? Fight crime at the old folks home?" I think the same idea may apply to Taxi Driver.

When your mother is also your aunt, most likely you're gonna have lots of problems, medically or otherwise. -
Mark Mulder may be retiring, reports are conflicting. The Royals plan on giving Kyle Farnsworth a shot at the rotation. B.J. Upton and the Rays went to arbitration to squabble over $300K. The Rays had the winning offer of $3M. Perhaps they should have submitted a $2.3M bid, gambled on saving one million or spending an extra measly $300K.

And what's with the "i said" in what I quoted from someone else?

Best trade of the offseason: Scott Boras was fired by Felipe Lopez and hired by Kendry Morales. Cha-ching!

Probably don't want to put a rookie 2B working with Guillen instead of Everett. Then again if the rookie can't cut it perhaps Guillen plays second. The Tigers should have never gone this road with Damon and Boras. If they want flexibility maybe they should sign a utility player or a veteran backup OF who can start in case of injury or various failures/limitations of their current starting outfielders. Probably the last thing they need is another veteran under contract. Getting carried away with that has gotten them in trouble.

I don't know. I wonder if anybody else on here doesn't know either.
