  3. I was on the Riverside T heading into Boston on Friday night to see the Sox about 6 PM or so when a guy with a Wilco rooster shirt walked on the train. I didn't say anything to him but I figured if he was wearing that shirt he probably posts here and will acknowledge.
  4. Don't worry if the sets have sold out......They are out to make money aren't they? If there is a demand more will be manufactured. It's good to hype your product.
  5. One of my favorite bands but it was time. What's the Story Morning Glory is one of the best albums of all time IMO. Noel will do okay on his own and Liam will disappear I suppose. Last time I saw them in Camden, N.J. in Dec. 08 they seemed a bit bored and uninspired. But like Wilco they could rock live.
  6. People knock this album but they seem to enjoy the songs when they are played live. Impossible Germany, Hate It Here, Walken, Side With The Seeds and You Are My Face always get a big rise out of the crowd when played in concert. So is it the recorded versions people dislike? You either like a song or you don't. When all is said and done this will be considered one of their best of all time.
  7. Evangeline: Matthew Sweet Sweet Home Alabama: Skynrd Summer Time Blues: The Who Live at Leeds Schools Out For Summer: Alice Cooper Whole Lotta Love: Zeppelin Remember: John Lennon Plastic Ono Band Going Home: Ten Years After Woodstock
  8. I wanted to hit them over the head with a good rocking song with Hate It Here and probably their most radio played songs You Never Know. I happen to think Hate It Here is one of their best and haven't heard anyone mocking it. IATTBYH is at the end to prepare them for the next CD which will be a little more noisy.
  9. I try to give them catchy songs first and work up to the heavier stuff later on the second CD mix. Actually made one last night for a long time friend who had never heard them before. All studio versions. If you don't get into these songs as a newbie there is something wrong with you IMO. Hate It Here You Never Know Jesus Etc. Should've Been In Love Forget the Flowers Someday Soon Hummingbird Walken One Wing Heavy Metal Drummer ELT You Are My Face Red Eyed And Blue I Got You Impossible Germany The Thanks I Get Far Far Away Glad It's Over IATTBYH
  10. McCartney was sitting behind homeplate at the MFY game tonight with Jack Nicholson no less. I was expecting a Lakers game to break out. YES broadcasters were making references to him all night.
  11. Jeff listens to Greg Kollins' CD and asks him to go into the studio to work on a new side project called Spring Offense.
  12. Didn't you just have one last year?
  13. Compared Tweedy to Neil Young and Dylan.....YEP.
  14. I love that album.....The remixing might not be to your liking but it is definitely a more punchier sounding collection of Beatles tunes. Think For Yourself IMO is one of the best songs on that album due to the remastering. It's All Too Much rocks as well. Hell, they all do. I'll probably end up buying the remastered CD's in stereo from Rubber Soul on leaving out Let It Be since I recently purchased the "naked" version and the Yellow Submarine soundtrack for the above stated reasons. Can't wait to hear The White Album my favorite of all time. To each their own I guess.
  15. One day Wilco will be there.... http://www.timelife.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=1001&langId=-1&productId=126501
  16. If any one here has the reissue of the Yellow Submarine soundtrack CD you will know how much better these albums are going to sound. That album is crisp, clear and loud. When I play the older CD versions of the songs that they added to the reissue of that album they sound flat and muffled compared with the remastered versions. Give it a try. Play Sgt. Pepper and A Little Help From My Friends from the YS album and then put on your old Sgt. Pepper CD. It will blow you away.
  17. That ended poorly......Kyteman must be big over there.....Overall pretty good show except for cutting off Spiders.
  18. Jerry Remy was in the booth with Don and Eck for an inning. Said he is undergoing therapy for depression and gaining his strength from an infection he suffered after lung cancer surgery. Said he'll be back in the booth soon. Got a great reception from the crowd when they posted a shot of him in the booth on the centerfield screen.
  19. Actually a Shubert Theater residency in New Haven would be even better.
  20. I couldn't watch last night's disaster. Went to bed after the top of ninth. Doesn't look good now for the Sox but did the United States give up after the German's bombed Pearl Harbor? The Sox have lost a few in a row to the MFY before as I remember and things turned out just fine. Not quite sure this time though. Injuries are a big problem and there is no Curt Schilling walking out to the mound.
  21. It must have been the Worcester show then because I remember the name tinnitus. I was also at the MSG show as well as the Lowell and Tanglewood shows so I am obviously fusing the many shows I've been to recently. Good work none the less.
  22. John Smoltz we hardly knew you.....DFA The Mets could use you.
  23. Thanks for posting the pictures. Great shots. I remember the ones you took last year at Tanglewood. I think I bookmarked those. I'll do the same with these. Did you go to the second show on Thursday? Another review with correct set list http://www.statesman.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/music/entries/2009/08/06/live_review_paul_mccartney_at.html?cxntfid=blogs_austin_music_source
  24. It is really John Stirratt. He changed his screen name for the bonus songs.
