What's the consensus on Wilco (The Album)?
Al.Ducts replied to Shining Sunbeam's topic in Just A Fan
I actually happen to love this song. Sound absolutely gorgeous on vinyl. The double voicing is fantastic and I love all the subtle background layers. I will admit that its slightly less effective non-vinyl however. -

Dark Neon as the opener would have set the tone a lot better. Wilco (the song) would have been a good extra in the same vein as Thanks I Get with SBS. -
If all else fails just throw on Impossible Germany That got 3 of my friends started.

I'd like to hear the songs grow with some more live performances. I initially loved it. Still think it is a very good album. -
The Band - Music From Big Pink

Here's the approach I would take. I tried to find 3 songs off of each studio release and break the list up into two discs. The songs are ones I found to be the most accessible for a new listener while also putting on full display what sets Wilco apart from other acts. I split the discs between summerteeth and yankee hotel foxtrot to make it as even as possible regarding the number of tracks on each disc while not separating an album between the two. Also I think the area between these two albums represents a more drastic shift in the guys' sound so it works nicely here. Let me know what you th

I completely agree with what Crow Daddy was saying in regard to the last 3 albums. A lot of people like to dismiss this recent run of albums to some degree. I think it has been a very interesting and cohesive evolution. Regardless of how you feel about where the band's sound and play have ended up at this point, I think it has been a great mirror socially. A post-9/11 world in a darker confused state coinciding with the release of A Ghost Is Born. The early indications of a return to normalcy (whatever that is) and a "deep-breath" of sorts with Sky Blue Sky. And finally trying to turn the page

Have a great birthday Mr. Tweedy!

I suppose your right. I jumped the gun a bit after not reading through his post thoroughly. Long day at work... In any case, hope you have luck in getting your album heard! And I would like to talk to Jeff Tweedy too

Whew... Don't want to come down on you too hard but if you'll kindly check the VC Rules & Regulations: Forum Etiquette: "Threads and posts which request personal and private information about the band (Does anyone know the address of Wilco's recording studio?) are in very poor taste and are tacky and stalker-ish. Don't." I guess your not really asking for specific info but... come on. EDIT: Didn't read your through your post well enough. Please disregard this haha.

Hey all. Hoping someone could help me with a tab for Red-Eyed and Blue (or point me in the direction of a previous thread discussing this). Wasn't able to find anything through the search tool. Would be greatly appreciated!

Was spinning this last night. No matter how many times I listen I'm still blown away.

I'm a 5'10" skinny 19 year old. I will most likely get pushed and moved all over the place on the floor in chicago and st. paul. And I'm going to love every second of it.

Although if you take the time to fully immerse yourself in an album BEFORE committing to putting it on your iPod this feature can be quite nice to ensure a varied stream of phenomenal artists, songs, and albums. And I love shuffling through Wilco's full catalog hearing the changes from one album to the next. (Disclaimer: I do NOT work for apple )

Hoping for another solid year from the Tennessee Titans.

A Ghost Is Born Tracks: Better in the Studio or Live?
Al.Ducts replied to Livin' in New Orleans's topic in Just A Fan
I'll take em live, studio, with a soup, or with a salad. A Ghost Is Born is (probably) my favorite Wilco album.
