  1. These guys were such a huge band for me when I first got into discovering music, so I'll always give them a shot. Stadium Arcadium was a brilliant album hidden in way too much filler. Losing John was a pretty big deal, so I'm surprised to like their new one as much as I do. Comes out next week but it's out there if you know how to find it. It's still got plenty of filler, but it's a (mostly) consistent full album listen with some definite highlights. Brendan's Death Song and Factory of Faith are especially great. Anyone else still care about them?
  2. I think you're way overanalyzing some of this, especially The Song. I don't love or hate it (the curse of the WTA period, really) but I don't think it's meant to be taken anywhere near this seriously.
  3. Always thought WTA's biggest flaw was its inoffensiveness. It's not awful, but it's not great. It just kinda exists. In other words, I rarely see strong opinions about it either way.
  4. Thom's entire enigma/asshole persona says he's clearly not gonna give any context for any of that.
  5. Exactly. Wilco is already a pretty huge band, guys. And that's awesome. I'll never understand the lets keep this band to ourselves attitude.
  6. It wouldn't be out of the question for Warner to have copyright claims to new Wilco songs if Jeff had been working on them and publishing them for years now.
