  1. Maybe it was written and registered with copyrights and whatnot before Wilco became their own label.
  2. Pretty good track, but it doesn't convince me that this album won't be Wilco Does Soft Rock Volume 3.
  3. Yeah they have. Tommy The Cat. Great song. Also, Les plays on a few tracks on Real Gone, and probably a few other TW albums.
  4. Nothing better than music that doesn't take itself too seriously. Big part of why the Super Furries are my definite favorite band, and the Beastie Boys are another favorite.
  5. Do it. Unless it was last night, in which case I hope you did. I saw him twice last month. Not too familiar with his stuff, but he was great. (Chapman, ftr)
  6. $6 seems about right for a 7", though I'm no expert. Were you expecting it to be the price of a download?
  7. Best part of that whole thing was Stanley's interview where he said they deliberately tried to mimic the "disposability and decaying nature" of a newspaper, yet still charged $60 for it.
  8. Well yeah, The King of Limbs sucked. I've probably heard about 12 or so from this year. Nothing else I actually disliked, I don't think. EDIT: what do you know, 15 on the dot.
  9. I don't think I've heard more than 15 2011 albums yet, so grain of salt, etc.
  10. I think I wish Circuital ended on Slow Slow Tune. Movin' Away is nice, but get rid of it and you have a 40 minute album with all really good to great tracks. But I don't dislike it either, so it's cool. I was already familiar with Wonderful (saw Jim play it solo and with MMJ last year), Black Metal and the title track, but besides those I think Victory Dance is my favorite song on here. Far too early to rank it among 2011 albums (although it stands a good chance at top 5) or MMJ albums, but I dig it.
  11. So I've finally listened to this. Really quite good. Haters be damned.
  12. I have one of these on my desk. It's awesome. So is SexyBack. Rock Your Body was the other one I heard recently. I totally love that he's doing whatever he wants and not putting another album out yet, despite being the kind of guaranteed blockbuster the industry needs. That's just awesome.
  13. I really need to hear this. I've heard a few JT songs on the radio lately, and they're as great as I remember. Don't know why I never checked out the full albums.
  14. I'm sure Wilco considers important matters like the how busy this message board is when choosing a release date.
  15. Oh nice, I must have seen you then! I post on the Citizen's Board a bit, but it's not that active most of the time. There are some really knowledgeable fans over there, so the active periods can be pretty great. I'm considering either the Boston or NYC shows, but it's looking unlikely. DC to NY on the Greyhound is only $30 roundtrip, so I might still go. Although I'd love to see Boston, that'd probably be a bit difficult for me. I appreciate the offer though! But if I do find a way up there, we'll talk. I had to ask Y Niwl's drummer if Gruff was backstage, and he said yeah. I told him I h
  16. Where were you sitting for the Rockwood show? I was at the table right in front of Gruff. I picked up his Candylion 45 when he accidentally knocked the stack of records over. I've now seen Gruff twice with SFA and twice solo. All wonderful, wonderful shows. I wish I could catch another show on this US tour. I forgot to mention that Gruff said a Bunf solo LP, a Cian solo LP (not an Acid Casuals album), a Peth album, the Separado soundtrack (featuring 8 songs, 10 instrumentals and some stuff by the other musicians in the movie) and SFA LP10 are all on the horizon, potentially still for 2011.
  17. Decent crowd. Not huge by any means, but the room was pretty full. Still comfortable though. Gwn Mi Wn was a definite highlight. When I saw him solo in January (were you at that shot too?) he used that as a looping showcase, but the Y Niwl version was pretty hard to beat. Speaking of them, they were a lot of fun. I'm listening to their album now
  18. That hidden track is phenomenal too. Gruff solo show last night was great. It was weird but refreshing to see Gruff playing with a different band. And then I talked to him for about ten minutes afterwards. Really nice dude.
  19. If my favorite songwriter in the world wasn't also in DC tonight, I'd be at that Isbell show. This is actually the second time Gruff has prevented me from seeing Isbell. I really want to see Isbell, but fate keeps standing in the way.
