Not going downhill at all. Love Kraft, Hey Venus and Dark Days/Light Years are all incredible records. Not to mention Gruff's two solo albums, and Stainless Style. If DD/LY had been similar to HV, I might begin to agree. Much as I love HV, it wasn't mindblowing at all. But it is a great record with a lot of complex vocal arrangements. Yes. I have. They never clicked with me, but I've heard it all. You can't really say these guys are unoriginal or cliche, though. I mean, all three guys in the band have released great, innovative rock music before (I don't consider FF innovative though, for the record. But you can't deny Grohl's drumming). Zeppelin is Zeppelin, and QOTSA are easily among, if not the, best rock bands of the last decade or so. I definitely called the Who as the next Super Bowl band last year. They fit the bill perfectly. An older band, with plenty of recognizable songs and a flashy live show. Obviously we've all heard/seen those songs dozens of times, but it should be great. When I saw the Who a few years ago, they still put on a great show.

I'm no Zeppelin fan, so I couldn't tell you what JPJ is good at. But this album has some juicer basslines than most Queens tracks. I have to assume that's the point of JPJ. And I love this record. It's not a new sound or anything, it's just incredibly solid hard rock. Obviously it sounds like a QOTSA album. That's to be expected with Josh on vocals. But sounding like Queens ain't a bad thing at all. 2:42 in No One Loves Me might be the greatest riff I've ever heard. It makes me want to break things.

So, iPhoto tells me I can order a 20x30 print, including shipping, for $20. This is a great price, and saves me two trips to Kinko's to get my piece printed. Last time I went there, I got an 18x24 print, and it was $21 or so. iPhoto seems to be cheaper and way more convenient. But if the prints aren't good quality, I'll skip it. This is a final project for an art class, so quality is critical. Has anyone ordered anything (any size) through iPhoto? If so, how is the quality? And how quickly did you get your prints? It says 1-3 business days. Accurate? Sorry for the bombardment of questions,

The youtube stream wasn't too bad, quality wise. But I'm listening to the better leak now, and it's a lot better. I'm enjoying this, though. At times it sounds exactly like it should, then it times it's pure wtf, in pretty great ways.

You couldn't hear the Roots at all? Questlove was the only one drumming for half the song. And the bongos were pretty prominent. Same with the tuba player. I can see the vocal problems, but I liked the arrangement a lot.

Obviously a song like Say It Ain't So stands out. But songs like Buddy Holly and El Scorcho aren't too far off from Pork and Beans and If You're Wondering. Rivers won't write another SIAS again. I'm ok with that. But the current Weezer pop culture referencing pop songs aren't much different than the older Weezer pop culture referencing songs.

I have, and love, the Unplugged DVD. I know this is like, the opposite of that. I watched the clip of School, and it was incredible. Can't wait to see the whole thing.

I thought it was amazing. I've not seen any of the videos of MoF playing that song, but the Roots are a ridiculously tight band, and added a lot to the arrangement.

For anyone at these shows, how much will a woman's shirt cost? If they didn't have any woman's shirts, then how much are the men's shirts? My friend has an extra ticket that he says I can have if I buy his girlfriend a shirt, as she's the one the ticket was for.

I think the act has worn a bit thin. But the songs are still (mostly) good pop-rock. I don't listen to newer Weezer with as much interest. It's a much shallower thing. It sounds good, so I have no qualms about playing it. Whereas prime Weezer is much deeper, better written stuff. I'm not taking Raditude seriously, and it's impressing me. It's just that people talk as if Rivers is betraying them, when he's really continuing to do the same kind of writing he's been doing.
