  1. I'm a dick? You mentioned not seeing anything about the show here, so I pointed out the pre-show thread. That one and this one give pretty good indications of how many people were there. If you want such an easy question answered, try putting a little bit of effort into reading the forum.
  2. John Doe is one guy. Former lead singer for X. I didn't see him open, but I'm a big fan of the few songs I've heard of his. Dude's got a good voice, I think.
  3. I like when bands bust shit like this out. I saw Super Furry Animals last year, and they all wore suits decorated with bits of the Hey Venus album art. It's lame as hell, yea, and I wouldn't want every show to be that way. But "uniforms" every once in a while are cool. I think Wilco wears them sparingly enough that they don't get old.
  4. There was a pretty good sized thread in Just a Fan about it.
  5. I feel like that already happens. The other guys don't write lyrics, but they add instrumental parts based on their preferred sounds, and shit like that. And considering everyone in the band has non-Wilco projects going on too, it's not necessary for them all to contribute their own individual songs to a Wilco album.
  6. I don't know how likely this is. It just seems unlikely at this point that Jeff will find himself with songs that he doesn't want the band to play with. Some day, I hope he does release a very stripped down album. WTA is a pretty stripped album in the grand scheme of things, but I think an album of Jeff and a guitar would be pretty amazing.
  7. In theory, a new Loose Fur album could happen, but I don't think it will anytime soon. However, Mikael and Nels have mentioned non-Wilco plans, so it's plenty feasible for Jeff and Glenn to slip away and lay down a new Loose Fur LP. That being said, I think it's ways off. If it happens at all...
  8. I think an official live release right now is very out of this world, actually. Considering they just released Ashes, and they're still playing very similar setlists, the logic in releasing another live DVD is flawed, especially since the band knows how easily obtainable their show recordings are. If you want live versions of the new songs, they're out there. I would love a new Loose Fur record...
  9. Incredible album, and one of my favorite album covers of all time.
  10. I know what you were referring to. But if you compare the family life aspects, Dylan's "country" albums are similar to SBS and W(TA). Damn good albums, but noticeably calmer than what came before. Dylan quickly moved on, and continued to release more great music. I'm not saying Jeff will go through a BOTT, nor do I wish him to, but a happy family life doesn't necessarily mean the end of edgy music. Honestly, I'm pretty damn excited to see how Jeff's writing progresses from here.
  11. Dylan's life sure settled down after Blonde on Blonde, but the dude kept releasing some of the best music mankind has ever been given. You know, for what it's worth.
  12. I really don't understand how anyone could even say EU is a creative decline. Even if you don't like it, you should at least be able to acknowledge that they made something different from what they'd been making, which is pretty much the definition of creativity. Drummer8864 has confused "creative music" with "music I enjoy." They're not at all exclusive.
  13. They're actually not on a creative decline. I can't speak for the Dead or the Replacements, but W(TA) and EU are far from awful records. They're all now making music that you don't enjoy as much. Which is fine. but it doesn't mean they're on a creative decline.
  14. Good shout-out. EBDR is a very well-written blog. I kinda stopped paying attention to it after Blonde on Blonde. But the guy knows what he's talking about.
  15. I'm sorry, I really really am. I'm just baffled that this was posted as a topic., and not just googled.
  16. If I were you, I would just google "Ashes of American Flags tracklist," then bam! Information.
  17. Umm... Wikipedia? Amazon? Wilco's website? A simple google search?
  18. I love it for the lack of melody, unecessary length, amateur breakdown that sea to phone it in with barchords. Electronically beat with guitar noise. But seriously, I sometimes hate it, sometimes love it. I was pissed when they started playing it at Wolf Trap, then I realized how great it sounds live.
