  1. Why is it so frowned upon for someone to sit at a concert? The way this forum is making it seem, you're not enjoying the show unless you're on your feet the whole time. Not everyone shows excitement the same way. I can enjoy the show just as much sitting down as somebody else standing up. I don't think the band looks out at the crowd, sees people sitting down, and feels like they aren't being a good enough live act. Let people enjoy the show however they want to. Someone sitting isn't possibly a problem to the people around them, so who cares? Sheesh.
  2. My top records for the year would be: Dark Days/Light Years-SFA Further Complications-Jarvis Cocker Dark Night Of The Soul-Danger Mouse & Sparklehorse Wilco (The Album) Together Through Life-Dylan Journal For Plague Lovers-Manic Street Preachers Lotusflower-Prince I still have to listen to the new Dino Jr and Sonic Youth albums. But I don't think anything will top DD/LY for me.
  3. Oh yea. I considered not buying it, but it was very nice looking, and I believe they only printed a limited number of them. And I didn't have any specific concert posters at that point. I think I made the right decision. It's more of a conversation starter this way. And there probably weren't that many other people brave/stupid enough to buy them that night.
  4. I bought one of those too. Easily the softest t-shirt I own. Also the most expensive t-shirt I own, but what can you do?
  5. Yea, I have a gig poster from the Lyric show in Baltimore last year, so I'd want another one to go along with it. When I bought that poster, they offered me the skinny bag, but I just held the poster flat. I was sitting in the last row of my section, so I just put the poster behind me seat, and got it home with no damage at all. My worst concert poster story is when I bought a Radiohead In Rainbows tour poster from their show at Nissan Pavilion last year. I bought it right before leaving the venue, since it was pouring down rain, and I figured I could mad-dash to the car and save the pos
  6. I like both of those posters. If Wolf Trap has both the tour one, and a good quality individual poster, I'll have a tough decision to make.
  7. That rocker one is pretty sweet too. Did they have any new t-shirts for sale at the Cincinnati show?
  8. I keep coming back to this album. Easily the best thing I've heard in a long, long time. "Cardiff In The Sun" may be the best song they've ever released.
  9. Oh yes, I agree that concert photography is difficult, and that there is always an obvious difference between professional and amateur photos. This is the case in any type of photography though. I've taken several photography classes, and I cannot tell you how much it bothers me when people think taking a bunch of shitty digital pictures of a street sign qualifies them as a legit photographer. The difference between that and real photographers' work is clear, and Keith knows what he's doing. Like I said, they're great images from a photographic and compositional standpoint, but I still fee
  10. I agree that you have to know that it could happen, but the way he said that, and boasted about it, really bothered me. I wasn't there, but if the sitting guy politely asked, and got shot down, then I think that's a douche move to keep standing, and feel good about it. I'm all for enjoying yourself at concerts, but I'm also a fan of general consideration for others. If someone asked me to sit down, I'd do it, unless it fucks up my own view.
  11. Not bad at all, but I'm noticing that almost every set of post-concert Wilco pictures is so similar to the rest. It's strange, because their sets are so varied and unpredictable, yet I feel like I've seen every one of this pictures so many times before.
  12. I'm amazed that this guy is getting praised on here. If the guy was a douche to you, then go ahead and stand, but if he politely asked you, then you're an ass for being proud of standing anyway.
  13. The Wilco show I was at in December had gig posters. I guess it depends on whether they get someone to design them. I hope Wolf Trap has them. I like that Wilco is one of few bands that do individual show posters.
  14. Off topic, but I'm watching the stream, and really enjoying Elvis Costello's performance.
  15. Yea, he probably has. There's nothing wrong with it, in fact it would be strange if he didn't keep saying it. Why would he continue playing with certain guys if he didn't think they were the ebst lin-up for the band to have? It's already looking like every W(TA) review will be pretty much the same thing. I'm terrified, but curious to read Pitchfork's review. You KNWO they'll focus on stuff that has nothing to do with the album itself. I don't get it, anyone that likes Wilco enough to read these articles already knows that Wilco "rose from the ashes of alt-country behemoths Uncle Tupelo
  16. OK, so I really did read that. Thanks!
  17. I guess the complications thing may have been one of the early reports that was never confirmed. I'm pretty certain I remember somebody saying he did have the hip operation, but I could be wrong. And I probably am.
  18. Or maybe the exact cause of death hasn't been concluded yet? "Complications from surgery" is a pretty generic explanation in death stories. I think the surgery complications thing could have been an assumption. But I remember someone saying he did have the hip surgery, so if it's complications from surgery...it would be from that. I just don't see any reason whatsoever why Jay would have had cosmetic surgery recently.
  19. This article successfully mentioned every single "Wilco publicity" cliche. I'm amazed, really.
  20. So, Jeff is moving away from wearing all denim, all the time?
  21. According to the press release, they will tour for this record.
  22. I find it hard to believe that Jay, already struggling to pay for a much needed surgery, would get cosmetic surgery. Especially considering he's a musician. Not a field where cosmetic surgery is necessary to stay around.
  23. You find Summerteeth to be their least interesting arrangements? How is that possible? And you never mentioned Being There or A.M. Have you not heard them?
  24. That's a damn shame, too. He could have added a lot of texture.
  25. This is legit guys, there was a press release confirming it. I'm normally hesitant about big collaborations, but this one should be great. And to whoever said they don't make folk music, that's wrong. They may not all perform with nothing but acoustic guitars and a harmonica rack, but they make some damn folky stuff. Listen to any Jim james solo recordings if you don't consider MMJ a "folk" band.
