Not really a fan, but I'm watching England-Fiji at the bar in my neighborhood grocery store.
I wish my grocery store had a bar. I was in Scotland all last week so saw quite a bit of Rugby. I have to say, I don't even kind of get the rules but it's entertaining to watch. Those are some tough dudes.

Thats the place I worked. Got many friends pretty excited about this deal. Even some people looking to move back to the state to work there. I know that plant down to the valve but not looking to go back. Pretty happy with where I'm at even though it's way different. Tell Andy Hi for me. Drank a few beers with him back in the day. Smart guy and a hard worker.

bummer about the closings. i am in DS, and not job hunting. i am ~2.5 years w/ my current company, after 24 with my previous (including two takeovers).
i take it you were at Amgen? did you know Rob Velchek, Andrew Roberts or Miranda Fan at all?
The other names are familiar but I definitely know Andy Roberts. Yep Amgen for 17 years.

Well it was DS for 20 years but they closed all the Colorado plants so I actually just started at a small diagnostic company 2 months ago. Very different. But my office is a 1 minute walk to Boulder beer so that was a nice feature.DS or DP?
How about you? DS or DP? You currently job hunting?

I am also in the biotech world. Manufacturing Management.

I like it a lot, but I do hear some Don Henley influence on it. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Aw, you just ruined it.

Oh yeah, and Blackie Onassis poked his head in to a rehearsal of one of my old bands one night. He liked us. Or, at least he said that he did.
Cool. I would have had to bust out some sister Havana. In fact, grabbing Saturation to listen to tomorrow.

A gem.

Got mine yesterday. I heard they are actually located in Boulder so does that that mean I will get my stuff first every month? I am waiting until the weekend to open and listen, along with my single malt Scotch.

Saw this on the vinyl me site about how they got to work with Wilco:
1. Getting to work with Wilco this month is probably the biggest dream come true for me. It's actually kind of funny how that came to be... here's the story.
We originally started talking to them about a year ago. We weren't talking directly to Wilco, but to their management team / label reps. We said we wanted to feature one of their records for an upcoming month. We originally set our sights on Ghost is Born since it hadn't been repressed since it's original release but given it is a double LP with insane packaging it came to be too expensive for us to do so. So we both said, ok, we'll touch base in a couple months.
Not too long after that we got an email from their management team saying the project had gone all the way up to Jeff Tweedy and he wanted to do whatever they could to make it happen. So we got back together and started brainstorming what might work. We landed on AM for a number of reasons but the biggest of which is it's a debut from a band that has put out so much good material since that it's often forgotten about and overlooked. It's a killer record from start to finish and it's born from some interesting drama after the demise of Uncle Tupelo. We all agreed that was the one. Price was still an issue but because AM is a single LP it became feasible. The band / label also made some compromises on their end to make it happen which is incredible to see how much they believed in and wanted to be a part of VMP.
At the same time, Wilco's management asked if we could set Jeff up with a promo subscription. We of course obliged and for his first box we wanted to do something special. I started writing a sappy letter saying how much we loved their work and how excited we were to be working with them. I think I true 6th grade style and even included some lyrics and was like... 'we got a box full of records for you too!' Thankfully my wife caught it before we actually sent it and I changed it to something a little... shall we say... cooler
Wilco is just one example of that... there are tons of all-time favorite artists that we want to work with. Only a matter of time.
Thanks for asking! -
Going to be like a birthday present every month.
