  1. that guitar looks like shit. i had a gibson doublecut faded les paul briefly, it fucking sucked. mexican fenders are the way to go. at least its on the same continent.
  2. dont know if this has been posted anywhere yet, so here: http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&searchlink=JAY|BENNETT&sql=11:acfixqr5ldfe~T4 pretty fucking nuts. i wanna check out the tommy keene stuff and that blues traveler thing he produced
  3. we named ours 'Butchers Blind.' weve been gigging with it for a few months now, and it feels better than our old band name (the double stops) to me. but yeah, if you call yourselves 'World Record Players' and dont release a live in japan record, i will be very angry and not support your music. im dead fucking serious.
  4. imagine? he could go all andrew jackson on him and challenge him to a duel
  5. id be scared id get electrocuted or something. my friends old silvertone amp had voltage problems, and when i sang into the mic, it would shock my face. not good for stage presence
  6. ..holy shit! imagine, all that awesome sound he can make with just those pedals. i ordered my steve pride and the blood kin album a few days ago. i cant wait till it gets here thanks dude!
  7. agreed. jay was a beast. id love to know just how he used things though. i mean, i dont think digitech will be coming out with a "pieholden jay bennett pedal" anytime soon. you know, like those dumb eric clapton pedals people actually buy.
  8. http://www.youtube.com/user/JHamm10137#play/uploads/10/w7nHI34J-Fw see? like, this stuff is awesome. his sound is so clear
  9. i agree, great performer. he was kind of a dick when i met him though
  10. okay, so ive been searching for what kind of gear jay actually used for a while, and noone seems to know what kind of effects. the closest glimpse anyone has had is in IATTBYH in the "two guitars obsolete" scene. the closest thing ive seen in the form of a gear interview is this: http://www.guitarplayer.com/article/wilco-builds-modern/jan-00/6640 has some cool stuff about jays guitars, and that he used 11 gauge strings. still no pedalboard description though. i know he has an ernie ball volume pedal, and he has to have some kind of compressor. lets try and compile all our knowle
  11. dont believe the truth was good. all their albums, with the exception of standing on the shoulders of giants and be here now, are relatively pretty cool. that is my opinion, of course, and i could be wrong.
  12. just kidding of course. it needed some time to settle in for it to be a more real joke. dont take anything i say seriously ever.
  13. very true, two very awesome bands from that scene. yes.
  14. i really do. i really, really do.
  15. i would like to apologize, once again, to everyone on this board. i was drunk when i posted the picard and locke thing to the wrong forum. i thought it was funny, and that you guys would enjoy it. so, sorry guys. (except for keving, you called me a chipmunk or a monkey or something. i hope i really pissed you off.)
  16. yeah, what a prick. we should ban him or something.
  17. im gonna get some third eye blind soon.
  18. i dont get how child friendly wilco merchandise is similar to charter schools or urban gentrification. wilco is a good band, i would want to show my kids (if i had them.) that article sounded interesting at first, but it seems like it was written by a pseudo-intellectual pointing out the obvious. of course parents have a socio-political influence on their kids! to think otherwise is just completely stupid. this guy is pointing it out like its new or something EDIT: i just read the above post pointing out the satirical nature of the article. i totally thought it was serious.
  19. music is music, doesnt matter if youre a professional or someone in a basement. i wanna hear this song/band. just the intent of this thread alone should say something about the song.
  20. this was a heartfelt thread. you offer some good advice, but the overall tone of the response was just plain unnecessary. anyway, i have always wanted jeff to hear our music. the one time i finally got to meet him, i told him his music inspired me to make my own. that in itself was enough for me.
  21. i very recently had some success with some plain old mattress foam (the tempurpedic type.) i just stapled it to the wall, and kapow! instant vocal booth. worked great actually.
