  4. jeff tweedy - met him once after a show in rochester. he signed my copy of 'adult head.' i was really nervous and stuff, and i told him how much his music changed my life and all that sappy stuff. he was about to respond, but then we took a picture (which is currently my vc profile picture) and the security guards made him leave. john stirratt - really cool guy, met him at solid sound. gave him a copy of my bands record. he seemed genuinely interested even though everyone was hounding him for autographs and stuff. rhett miller - met him at a ryan adams show in upstate NY. he was out
  5. that sounds awesome. pm me your email or something, we can figure it out
  6. My band, Butchers Blind, just put out our first record. We are from Long Island, New York and are looking to get out of the 5 boroughs. We are trying to book regional shows right now (Upstate NY, Boston, Philly) and was wondering if anyone on here wanted to swap gigs with us. If anyone knows any cool venues we should hit up, that would also be greatly appreciated. You can check us out here: http://www.facebook.com/butchersblindmusic http://www.paradiddlerecords.com Hope to hear from you guys!
  7. thanks man! the sessions were amazing for this one. we were lucky enough to get some pro musicians on e gtr and wurlitzer. it just came together. the guitar player used to play in this band: http://www.myspace.com/hymnsband they have since broken up and i miss them big time. they were great live.

  9. seriously. they had a solid sound tote bag, they will definitely make a new album tote bag. fuck tote bags.
  10. i used to get caught up in these arguments all the time. i then realized that usually both parties give us a lot of great music. who are we to judge who is better? i find music more enjoyable when i care less about context.
  11. 'is this real?' is amazing.
  12. thanks guys! glad you dig the tunes. we'll be releasing some more free tunes leading up to the release, so ill post em here.

  14. did anyone get a solid ground campsite? if so, did you guys get your reservations yet?
  15. I have no idea. You may be, however, the biggest Wilco fan here. Props.
  16. I have to agree with the general sentiment here. I liked 'I'm Sorry Huston.' But 'Dancin' Ricky?' Not so sure.
  17. I like how people like Thom Yorke and Trent Reznor are telling everyone the major labels on the way down and its a horrible way to do things. They have some valid points. However, they seem to forget that the financial support of these major labels allowed them to tour, record and build a sizable fanbase. Giving music out for free is cool, but only for those who have a ton of fans who want it. It's not so easy for unsigned bands nowadays. For listeners, it seems like a good thing. Music prices are definitely gonna go down. Concert prices will probably go up a lot though.
  18. I'm thinking a 70s Beach Boys type move. You know, after the whole smile thing didn't happen.
  19. I just thought of it... they might explore a more blue eyed soul (not the song) oriented direction. They sort of got into it on SBS and it was almost there for W(TA). That's my guess, I guess. I mean, he produced Mavis and stuff.
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHW8OoQLUwM The part where she gets sick from the mushrooms may be one of the coolest things I've ever heard. I miss Franz. See also: Growing Up - Bruce That one part in Muzzle of Bees... you know what I'm talking about
  21. I really can't stand Colin Meloy. I'm not gonna get into it right now. However, I was thinking about giving them another shot when this came out. Gillian Welch and Peter Buck? Has to be pretty cool. Worth a shot?
  22. yeah, i agree. i feel its about the right time. a new record and a b-sides record would make this year rule.
