  1. lol. they were directly in front of me. that drummer's a tall SOB.
  2. most likely. and you forgot the Beastie Boys, the other hip-hop group that white people enjoy.
  3. if you want to dismiss an entire branch of music as 'art-synth-crap' that's your right. but get one thing right, mr old man - they are not of 'your time.' i bet you are a big hip-hop fan, too.
  4. i think my mind would unravel if Jeff convinced Jim to come over for a Loose Fur set.
  5. your jam band roots are showing through. I realize that those bands are not in your regular listening rotation, but in particular The Smiths were absolute titans of creating an aesthetic (visual and sonic) that's pretty much been unmatched.
  6. you are obviously a well-rounded and highly studied music fan. Kraftwerk are basically the Beatles of non-guitar music.
  7. they did plenty of terrible material in their 30s. i find it funny that the word 'essential' is so hard to understand its meaning.
  8. Essential Sabbath - Vol. 4 Non-essential Sabbath - Technical Ecstasy Should never have had the Sabbath name on the sleeve - Seventh Star does that help?
  9. my point is that 'best work' doesn't have a time limit associated with it. if McCartney didn't do his best work w/ the Beatles, or Springsteen from Nebraska backwards, i don't know what to say.
  10. considering the best work of Dylan, Neil, Led Zep, Fairport Convention/Richard & Linda, Bowie, Springsteen, Beatles/Wings, etc that's a pretty weighty statement.
  11. scored vinyl copies of these yesterday for $20 each. sweet!
  12. i was planning on shooting the Lykke Li show but found out it's a soundboard shoot at House of Blues...may not be worth my time.
  13. anyone need two Bryan Ferry tickets for The Orpheum tonight? I can't use them...
  14. yeah, they've done in a few times in 2013: http://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/uncle-tupelo-2bd698ae.html?song=New+Madrid i stand corrected!
  15. i'm just saying that a Wilco show proper (not a solo Jeff or a Tweedy band show), to my knowledge, hasn't played a UT song in a long time. sure, when AM and maybe Being There were the only records out, they played a UT song or two as well. i'm just not sure how recent they've actually done this...to my knowledge, it hasn't been for a long time. but i could be wrong.
  16. when's the last time Wilco's done a UT song (that wasn't a cover)?
  17. hmm...looks interesting: https://www.facebook.com/bigwalnutsyonder Watt, Nels, Saunier (Deerhoof) and some other guy.
