  1. He's an wacko absolutely, I just didn't want to initially come out and say it. It's my hope that through greater exposure to the public of the ideology that permeates these networks of Republican base activist groups, undecideds will look to vote anywhere other than with the GOP in November.
  2. Couldn't be. It's painting the entire party in an unfavorable light. If circumstances continue to point towards a cover-up it'll have serious ramifications in this upcoming election and the republicans are already concerned about loosing seats in both houses.
  3. No, hell no. I am becoming more and more generally pissed and disenfranchised with our representatives with each passing day. This has been especially evident over the past few weeks. Damn.
  4. Heard yesterday afternoon on "All things considered". Paul Weyrich: Here is the real problem. It has been known for many years that Congressman Foley was a homosexual. Homosexuals tend to be pre-occupied with sex. The idea that he should be continued... or should have been continued... as chairman of a committee on missing and exploited children is, you know, given their knowledge of that, is just outrageous. It continues: Interviewer: Now before we go, I think I can say Mr. Weyrich that there are quite a few people who would take exception to the statement that homosexuals are preoccupi
  5. Kinks "Victoria" There are six other clips from this TV studio preformance...and it's all pretty grand stuff.
  6. The life of a feral cat is a pretty miserable existence and although I thinks it's debatable whatever the outcome from capturing them and turning them over to a shelter it's inevitably better than the life they would lead roaming loose in an urban environment. I think it should also be noted that many areas, and mine is one of these, emergency veterinary clinics, veterinary hospitals and shelters will take animals in as good Samaritan cases, check them over and assure that they're treated and in good shape before getting them ready for adoption. In smaller urban districts it's not uncommon for
  7. I count London Calling as one of my favs...although technically it was released Dec.79.
  8. I'll see the Sadies w/ Jon Spencer (Heavy Trash) tomorrow night. Bill Callahan (SMOG) Friday night. Richard Thompson on the 28th Ted Leo next month (Hot Damn!)
  9. Its a small eight man office league we've been doing for about the last 12 years so.... a quick check tells me there's only 34 Running backs curently on rosters. We fly with three wide outs, two RBs, one QB, one PK, one independant defensive players and a Team "D" each week. We each hold a roster of 13 total players. It's a little different than the on-line stuff.
  10. I eked out a win in my fantasy league last night; (barely). I'm considering picking up the running back from the Pats....Laurence Maroney. He looked damn stout this week against the Bengals. Any thoughts on this guy? Currently in my RB corps... Stephen Jackson Brian Westbrook Julius Jones Dominick Rhodes Fred Taylor
  11. Youtube is too cool It's the great pumpkin Charlie Brown!
  12. I watched my Redskins play yesterday and was left........Happy. Felt very alien to me. I need McNabb to throw to Reggie Brown and Westbrook tonight and pick apart Green Bay's secondary. Go Eagles.
  13. I'd just like to whine a bit about Brian Westbrook: Last week he was Questionable going into the 49er's game and put up great numbers. I'd benched him of course because of his status, along with Darrell Jackson from Seattle leaving 35 points on the bench. This week: Our line ups have to be by noon on Friday....Westbrook is again listed as questionable. I will start him. Watch....between now and Monday night his knee will swell as big as his head
  14. One not mentioned amongst my many favs listed here is Twain's A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court
  15. Jock or Spazz? Neither. I was a red-neck with new wave tendencies. Never did grow that rat-tail.....
  16. Yeah, he was being a bully. He's being interviewed upon request by Fox News with the expectation of talking about his civilian fundraising endeavors via the CGI last week. Did he somewhat loose his sense of decorum? Yes. Was he way out of line? No, God no and I wish there were more of this in politics. Chris Wallace is a highly paid reporter. It is irrelevant to discuss if his opinions and objectives are clouded by political bias. He asked those questions to illicit a response. He got one. That aint being bullied. You kick an old dog you might just get bit.
  17. I for one didn't feel Mr. Clinton came across as being bully-ish at all. I think the man had simply had enough. As for his "stumbling" erratic speech I think you can simply chalk that up to him being good and pissed.
  18. Exactly... I'm sitting here trying to decide if any of those grunge albums I bought way back when have really aged terribly. And I'm thinking "no". I may not listen to them very often but it's still great stuff, and for the record I always thought Nevermind was terrific and still do.
  19. Just because your all Trucker fans in this thread and I somehow have managed to miss this song by Isbell and thought maybe some of you have too....
  20. I swear this is not a good thing by any means but we had such stupid grins on our faces after walking out of two Truckers shows this year because of this. We'd get outside and have to practically scream at one another just to hear what we were saying. (Disclaimer: Kids wear your ear plugs). Can't wait for the pics...
  21. Thanks for that link...a terrifc article and video segment.
  22. And I've seen all three this year and although Chan was sans the band; ( I did really enjoy her set).....I'd have to say see Neko and M. Ward. You'd also have to assume they would take the stage together at some point.
  23. I am buying his back catalog from Merge on-line, right now, like this...... "Whoo" ( I have no voice left this AM after last night....)

    M. Ward

Last night Matt played a little over an hour and a half set, came back for two encores to a crowd who refused to let the night end. An absolute thing of beauty to behold, this band. Go. See. Them.
