  1. Tivo'd this, just viewed it last night and I agree w/you %100. That's possibly the worst mix ever. Drums were tinny, "vox" were awful. Kelly and Neko couldn't even harmonize so the monitors must've been crap also. Neko looked to be in good spirits afterwards tho.... It's a shame considering the Sadies new record is just out and they're such a terrific band.
  2. Awesome.. Topographical Unmentionables The PinNumbers Katydids Roaming Charges Boot Jack
  3. Brigadier General Norman Cota: I don't have to tell you the story. You all know it. Only two kinds of people are gonna stay on this beach: those that are already dead and those that are gonna die. Now get off your butts. You guys are the Fighting 29th. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin Vandervoort: You can't give the enemy a break. Send him to hell
  4. This was really VERY good. Never heard any of Jim White's material before but will definitely be checking it out due to this film. I dug all of the performances throughout. Hard to describe, not exactly a documentary. Parts were staged for effect. One of the best surprises for me were the David Johansen performances; (yeah, THAT David Johansen). I recommend going back and listening to the commentary also as it's very insightful. NW Never seen it. 3+ hours and I'm about half way through. Pretty good stuff.

Sadly true. Plus C,ville/Albemarle real estate prices have skyrocketed, so expect rent to be a bit "pricey". The flipside is I have a whole month of shows to attend in September, including the Lips, the Crowes, M.Ward, Rouge Wave, Mates of State, the Sadies w/ Jon Spencer and the Long Winters. So at least the scene has ratcheted up more than a few notches. If you love good food, good wine and a diverse array of cultural attractions, you'll dig this town. But if your trying to find a new stylish pair of mens shoes you are going to be woefully outta luck PS: Walton's Mtn... "pfffft"
  8. Hey, it's a random thought...ok.

  10. A great flick with notable performances by J. Cagney and Ward Bond (an often cast Ford player). Tonight: Never seen this........reccomended.
  11. Absolutely.... Molly Parker. I freckles and because she's back in the news w/Clerks II
  12. And I'm so taken by this novel I'll probably have to go back and read those too. I bought this back in the early Spring and am just getting around to it. I can see now, this will be one of those cherished books I'll long to replace my paperback version with a hard bound edition.
  13. Really? I'm just really digging the dialog. The characters are just that. "Characters". I find the banter back and forth simply terrific. The enunciation, the regional inflections make it sparkle. If this thing were a play; (and it may have been adapted at some point for all I know ) I could see this being a real 'hoot' to perform.
  14. Just started this late last night First time. WOW.
