That makes me think of some of the headlines about the passing of Tony Sheridan a while back that referred to him as the "Beatles frontman".

I have one of those Unauthorized Rock N Roll comic books about The Doors. One of the panels shows Jim in a gym lifting weights. Pretty funny. I think the premise was someone told him he was fat and needed to go to the gym.

Speaking of interviews, an Interview with Charlie (not many of those around, I wouldn't think): Charlie Watts Glastonbury? I don't want to do it.

According to Billboard, Mick Taylor is going to be playing with the band on the new tour. That should be interesting. -
I think the shows are in Europe.

They had some band opening for them not too many years ago. I can't remember the name of the band. That might have been the last time they did that.

How long has it been since The Black Crowes toured with another band? They are also going to play some shows with Bruce Springsteen.

Speaking of The Doors - John has a new book coming out called "The Doors: Unhinged ".

At least they played Feathers.

David did another live chat last night. I didn't see it, but I am going to check it out today. He says all the Dick's Picks are going to be re-released on cd and vinyl. I didn't know they were doing cds. I guess they are not selling them by way of the Dead.net. I just checked on Amazon and Dick's Picks Vol. 25 is there.

Rich looks like Eric Clapton (circa 1970-1971).

I wonder if that is due to not rehearsing that many songs.

I am curious as to how Jackie sounds in the band.

I was watching some of Mike Campbell Guitar Collection videos today. That guy has some nice guitars. Too bad you have to pay some bucks and sign up at the website to see all the videos. I guess there are 15 segments all together.

I was listening to all their albums today for the first time in a long time (well, up through New Adventures in Hi-Fi ). I was curious to see if they still had an active website. And sure enough, there is all sorts of stuff being posted on it. That is how I ran across the news about that re-issue. Oddly enough, I was listening to Green at the time.

Music writing is so bad these days - Lester Bangs must be spinning in his grave. It should be: -

I love the take of Happy and Tumbling Dice from that film. You can see Keith yelling at Mick Taylor - pretty funny.

I would like to have seen them back in the day, but I wouldn't bother now.

I think I can see your point. I just always saw them as a get in there and knock it out sort of band. Of course, that may depend on which era we are talking about. I suppose Sticky Fingers may be the first polished sounding Stones album. When I listen to live albums from that time I try to recall that most bands did have that great of a sound system to work with. But the power and energy that makes the Stones sound comes through on that album.
