  1. My first thoughts were - it sounds pieced together, and it's way too wordy. I don't much care for the production of Don Was.
  2. You'll have to give us a report when you get back.
  3. And the opportunity to get it signed, I think.
  4. I don't know much about Jerry's solo stuff - but this is a great show:
  5. I am looking forward to reading the book.
  6. John later apologized for a lot of what he said - particularly with regards to dismissing the work of George Martin.
  7. I understand there's a vinyl resurgence these days, but I'd say your right. It just seems weird. I think they should put them back out as FLAC and Mp3 downloads. That what people want - mostly. There are a few I'd like to own - and the price of the used cds puts me off. The page for the releases at Dead.net. I thought this was some sort of joke when I first saw it at Relix.
  8. I still don't get putting rap and disco bands in there. It would be easy for me to say that sort of music does not mean anything to me - which it doesn't. But - I won't go with that reason. There must be some sort of guidelines or criteria they follow when nominating bands. (I mean something besides time and influence.)
  9. I'd like to know how that guy and/or business ended up with the rights to do that in the first place. I would think the folks at Rhino are not too happy about it.
  10. I find this a bit odd: Dick’s Picks To Be Re-Released On Vinyl
  11. I've seen parts of it on Youtube. I like that song When A Blind Man Cries.
  12. I watched a documentary about that time period (Burn-Stormbringer-Come Taste A Band) on Youtube a while back.
  13. That's the other thing - so many line-ups. I like the Burn album.
  14. They might get Billy Corgan in there. I say this due to the way he talked about them in the documentary. I wonder if Ritchie will show up if DP gets in there? I think he and Ian Gillan still hate each other. Not one of my favorite DP songs, but these rehearsal videos are great: No No No (Beat Club Rehearsal 1)
  15. This is good news (or somewhat, anyhow):
  16. The Replacements Reunite for Covers EP The Replacements Reuniting for Covers Set This is the Lighfoot song they covered:
  17. It's on the vinyl release. I think it is a Linda Thompson song.
  18. You could also try searching on "summer" or "contest" in this section of Via Chicago. There's also the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. An Email From the Wilco HQ Staff
  19. There are photos of that scene in The Beatles Anthology book. The public library here where I live has the film on VHS. I use to rent it back in the late 80s/early 90s.
  20. A pretty cool essay on Dire Wolf - by way of the Grateful Dead Guide.
  21. I noticed David stated something to the effect of "exciting news" with regards to 2013 releases. I am guessing they will be doing more boxsets. I'd like to see some more of those An Evening with The Grateful Dead featuring The New Riders Of The Purple Sage shows released. Or some of the 1970 GD acoustic shows.
  22. I wonder what the story is behind this? Maybe it was part of the Betty Boards? Ok - Dave says it was Dan Healy who did the tapes.
