I am watching the archived David live chat. He starts out by talking about being "just exactly perfect". I find that hilarious. Here's the link again: David (live chat). He mentions he likes Wilco quite a bit. Rhino is putting this show out on vinyl for Record Store Day: Grateful Dead Live at Winterland Arena on 1971-05-30 Or rather, part of it.

I've read about it online, but I have never heard it. Waiting On A Friend is one of my favorite songs.

I think Dancing With Mr. D is not so great either (except for the fact it mentions my state). They recorded a lot of songs for that album.

The Rolling Stones use a click track - or they use to anyhow. They talk about it in that "According To. . ." book.

The first side is great, the second side has Silver Train and Winter. The sound of that album is pretty good I think. I read somewhere that is a drum machine we hear on the new song - and not Charlie.

Same name - just moon on the end instead of man.

I see you and I are also on another message board. I figured he would play Drowned. I didn't know about the Hull show coming out. The Who: Live at Hull 1970.

My first thoughts were - it sounds pieced together, and it's way too wordy. I don't much care for the production of Don Was.

You'll have to give us a report when you get back.

And the opportunity to get it signed, I think.

I don't know much about Jerry's solo stuff - but this is a great show:

I am looking forward to reading the book.

John later apologized for a lot of what he said - particularly with regards to dismissing the work of George Martin.

I understand there's a vinyl resurgence these days, but I'd say your right. It just seems weird. I think they should put them back out as FLAC and Mp3 downloads. That what people want - mostly. There are a few I'd like to own - and the price of the used cds puts me off. The page for the releases at Dead.net. I thought this was some sort of joke when I first saw it at Relix.

I still don't get putting rap and disco bands in there. It would be easy for me to say that sort of music does not mean anything to me - which it doesn't. But - I won't go with that reason. There must be some sort of guidelines or criteria they follow when nominating bands. (I mean something besides time and influence.)

I'd like to know how that guy and/or business ended up with the rights to do that in the first place. I would think the folks at Rhino are not too happy about it.

I find this a bit odd: Dick’s Picks To Be Re-Released On Vinyl

I've seen parts of it on Youtube. I like that song When A Blind Man Cries.

I watched a documentary about that time period (Burn-Stormbringer-Come Taste A Band) on Youtube a while back.

David's doing another live video chat today.

That's the other thing - so many line-ups. I like the Burn album.

They might get Billy Corgan in there. I say this due to the way he talked about them in the documentary. I wonder if Ritchie will show up if DP gets in there? I think he and Ian Gillan still hate each other. Not one of my favorite DP songs, but these rehearsal videos are great: No No No (Beat Club Rehearsal 1)
