Little Red Rooster with Brian on slide is a pretty cool thing to see/hear. Second night setlist (11/29/2012):
-
This is surprising (by way of Billboard.com)

There is some cool stuff on those Who's Missing compilations. When I Was A Boy is a John Entwistle song (you probably knew that.) I am rather fond of Let's See Action/Join Together/Relay. I received Hooligans for Christmas in 1981. I still have it.

Here's the video: Neil Young on The Daily Show (by way of Thrasher's Wheat).
-
I don't know if I have heard all of them all the way through or not. When I listen to the Stones it is usually Beggar's Banquet/Let It Bleed/Exile On Main Street.
-
I'll have to see if he is mentioned in the According To. . .The Rolling Stones book. I don't recall seeing his name in there. The bass player auditions are a whole other story. Apparently, even Noel Redding showed up to play. I don't know much about the albums after Tattoo You, but I like that song Slipping Away (Steal Wheels). That Stripped album is alright. Undercover (1983) Dirty Work (1986) Steel Wheels (1989) Voodoo Lounge (1994) Bridges to Babylon (1997) A Bigger Bang (2005)

Bob Lefsetz's latest post sounds like it was written about Wilco
Analogman replied to Magnetized's topic in Just A Fan
He's mentioned Wilco a time or two on his blog. I read his blog just about every day. -
A few years ago I grabbed all the ABKCO remasters. I think those were the most expensive remasters I ever bought.
-
I wonder if he actually meant his Aerosmith audition. I read about that in the book Walk This Way. I've always heard that Keith is not necessary fond of flashy guitar players. I would think Jeff Beck playing at the show the other night was due to his friendship with Mick.
-
I've never heard that before. That would have never worked.
-
I was watching a Rory Gallagher documentary the other day - and there was a part in the film where they talked about him playing with the Rolling Stones. I'd forgotten that he auditioned as a possible replacement for Mick Taylor. That must have been an odd thing to hear and/or see.

There are (at least) two bootlegs you may want to check out - From Lifehouse to Leeds, and P.T. Demos For The Who - "Lifehouse" - Demos 1970/71 (Pete Townshend: Genuine Scoop.)
-
I think all the songs on that album were left-over songs.
-
It appears MJ was dressed as The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man at the start of the show.
-
It's is at that. I doubt they would let such things happen these days.
-
It's posted up above. A lot of it is old news.

I picked up The Magic Door yesterday. This album sounds really good.
-
They don't own the film. I have a feeling whoever does wants more money than the band is willing to pay. David has been saying it will come out for several years now.
-
I was 16. I remember some dudes skipping school to go buy the album.
-
I was. I don't really know about the shows after 1973 - so you got me there. I just think they put out a lot of good stuff. I am talking about all the stuff - not just the Dave's Picks series. I mean all the boxsets and the rest.

I don't get all the hatred. I have read and/or own hundreds of rock star books. I think Neil's book is certainly a cut above what is out there. I understand he goes on about the music player too much, but other than that I think it is just Neil being Neil. I wonder how many people go to that Home Depot just to see his son.

This makes me feel old:
-
I don't see how that is possible. They have put out something for just about everyone since he has been around.

That's a great article. I am always curious about David, and it is nice to hear about Betty.
