  1. One thing that ruins that song is the stupid gun fire sound effects. If I recall correctly, there is a version of it on the re-mater without the sound effects.
  2. If you get the last re-master, there is a hidden track at the end of the cd that features David yelling at Michael while the band is trying to cut the track (Draft Morning). He was a crap drummer, but that is how it was back then.
  3. Interview: A Word With Gary Louris of The Jayhawks I wish No Depression was still in print. They ran a great article about the band around the time of Smile. You can find it in the No Depression.com archives online.
  4. I think when a show is made available commercially, it gets taken down at the archive. Although, that may just for multi-track releases. I have seen soundboard sourced shows available for streaming only, but not available for download. Of course, this does not mean AUD sources. And as I have said before, you can grab just about every soundboard there is by way of bt.etree.org. Why those shows don't get banned on bt.etree.org or other BT sites is beyond me. I figure if a buy a show I am paying for the HDCD mastering and the artwork/liner notes.
  5. I guess it was posted Friday, but it did not show up on my Facebook page until a few minutes ago. Although, I am not hardcore about it, I do prefer to listen to entire shows.
  6. New feature up at Dead.net: Jam Of The Week
  7. The bonus disc has some great footage. I don't think they showed that on VH1.
  8. There is talk that a lot of those other tracks had modern overdubs. Bonzo's Montreux was recorded in 1976, I think. I'd say I like the first side better than the second side. I still have the original pressing I bought when it came out in 1982. There are a lot of neat photos inside the album cover.
  9. Ozone Baby, Darlene, and Wearing and Tearing came out of the In Through The Out Door sessions.
  10. The band he is really talking about in that statement is Led Zeppelin. Personally, I would rather go see LZ play old songs than go see Robert Plant play a show full of cover songs and whatever else he does these days. The only solo album of his I ever really cared for was Pictures At Eleven.
  11. Although he may be annoyed at bands playing their old songs, he himself does just that. The songs may be re-worked, and sound different, but still, he plays the old songs. I saw him in 1990 and he was doing it then, but instead of going for a 50s country sound, it was all about sound effects and keyboards back then. I know someone who is going to go see him this year. He is expecting a Zeppelin type rock show. I tried to explain to him that Plant does not play music that way anymore. The band was actually set to carry on without him, but then, it fell apart just as it did in the 1980s wh
  12. What problem do you have downloading the show by way of the Wilco Archive? It is the exact same set of FLAC files that you received in the torrent you downloaded.
  13. Gary posted a photo of himself mixing the new album the other day. I am looking forward to hearing it.
  14. I recall when the City to City album came out. I was in the 8th grade.
  15. That is true. I just moved mine for the first time in 16 years.
  16. We have had this discussion before, but some chain stores are carrying them, such as Best Buy. I still find it funny that younger people are buying record albums. I am curious as to the age breakdown. I know some younger people who have never owned anything but an iPod.
  17. I watched Liebestraum (1991) the other day. It had been a long time since I had seen that film. Also, I believe the movie channel THIS has been running Stormy Monday (1988) for the past few months.
  18. I suppose I end up comparing him to Jack Casady, which is unfair. I'd say he had it down by the early 70s.
  19. I don't know that he was that great, it depends on how you look at it, I guess.
  20. It was that way with a lot of those bands back then. It had to do with the movement away from folk/acoustic music, to electric/rock music. I think Phil just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
  21. Db.etree.org Wilco shows (1999) Wilcobase listing for November 1999. There is a show listed for November 18th, 1999 at Northampton. I figure someone will know and post an answer.
  22. I don't think I ever paid attention to how accurate it was, I just remembered it being posted in the past. What's the date of the show you are referring to?
  23. I just noticed that you put up those shows. I am not going to mess with the Owl and Bear/Wilcobase links for the time being.
