Which Bands have you seen the most live?
Analogman replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
You should hear this show: Legion of Mary June 4, 1975 I doubt The J. Geils Band complained too much about their 80s success, it made them rich. -

They did - sort of: J. Geils Reunion 2009 -
I have always thought she was a bit off, but most creative people are that way.

Elvis on Tour (1972) is a cool film.

When I first saw the title, I thought she was covering The Animals song of the same name.

The first (and so far, only) HD shot concert film I have seen/own is, The Black Crowes: Freak N' Roll. It looks weird the first time you see it - almost 3D, or it looked that way to me, anyhow.

The more I read her latest interviews, the more I think she is a few bricks shy of a full load.

I've heard most all of those, I just have not bought them. I gave up on being a completest a few years ago, but I will get those albums someday. Before the Flood (re-master) (March 31st) New Morning, and, The Basement Tapes also. Various Dylan Blu-Spec cds to be released. (Amazon.com link). I've never heard of this format. I see that she is in a lot of music magazines this month.

I actually have a slight memory of seeing that the night it was on TV.

I should have mentioned that - mainly, the jam session part.

I think without him, we would not have rock and roll as we know it today. I never really got into his music all that much, although I admire the cd and concert film I mentioned in my post. As you know, the music of the mid 60s-mid 70s is my favorite music to listen to, and he certainly was a major influence on those bands. Almost every time I read an interview with the members of one of the British beat/blues bands, he is often cited as one of the main reasons they wanted to form a band and make rock and roll music. I suppose his place in American culture overshadows the music he created

I recall exactly where I was when I heard that he died. I was eleven years old. Ernst Jorgensen worked on this release: Elvis at Sun A great concert film: Elvis: That's the Way It Is (1970) Two movies: Elvis Meets Nixon (1997) Bubba Ho-Tep (2002) A collection of short stories: Elvis Rising: Stories on the King

I didn't even see it. It must have popped up during the night.

I don't know if it something I need to have, but I will probably buy it. I am still trying to track down the Feb 2009 show that was out there to snag for a while. From what I have found, it was on a few BT sites before being taken down. If anyone has any leads, let me know. I spent some time searching for it on Saturday, but found nothing.

I read somewhere recently about a bank that was running out of safe deposit boxes because people are taking their retirement money and putting it in a box, instead of leaving it where it was. It seems absurd. Until you have lost a bunch of money, that is.
