For those who don't know - there is a Wilco connection to Mott. Wilco use to play I Wish I Was Your Mother and Henry and The H Bombs. Also, Jeff was on Ian's last solo album.

Not too long ago, I finally got the early albums on cd - thanks to Amazon.com. Although - there are better re-masters to be had in the UK.

Since it was mentioned - I'll post this again: Definitely Maybe Here's a track for anyone who wants it: Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever Jeff Beck Group - November 1, 1967 Top Gear, BBC Maida Vale 4, London, England. The sound is not exactly perfect, but it has groove and soul for miles. Ok - good to go now.

I wouldn't think any of those bands are worthy - except for Def Leppard (who I hate) - due to the fact that they have sold millions and millions of records. It's interesting - I still think the people should vote, and not guys in suits and/or so-called music critics.

Jeff Beck's music may not be someone's cup of tea, but he is one of the best guitar players of all time. He has said himself more than once, that his material, particularly in the early days, was lacking. But I still think those first two albums are two of the best rock/blues guitar albums ever made. I guess we are all on different trips. I try to stay away from making negative comments these days. But - I don't much care for the idea of sticking Jethro Tull, Rush, and Yes in with Kansas, Journey, etc. I suppose it comes down to criteria - influence, musicianship, innovation, longevity,

I think Metallica should be in there - but there are many other metal bands that should have been in there ahead of them - Judas Priest and Iron Maiden - for example.

I thought of that because I saw a National Geographic - or a Smithsonian magazine once which had a big spread about them. As I recall, they were covered in gold jewelry. I am surprised they don't have an OG.

We did that too. The Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars now a days are junk - compared to what we had.
