In some ways, the cover art is not all that much different than her last two album covers - sort of. What would you do with that as it is now? I am not much of a fan of the white background. I think I would try having her name at the top and the album title at the bottom - using the same font as the word Cougar is displayed in chrome on the car.

I don't see how many people are going to be able to buy it - unless you have 300 hundred dollars and a Blu-Ray player. Still listed as coming out on February 24, 2009 - $323.99 Although there is a DVD listing - for $310

I missed that - all of my BT searching usually involves searching for Wilco shows these days. Here it is.

and Eight Miles High (which really was about being in a plane)

I have always read that the reason he left the band was due to his fear of flying.

It was interesting to read in the Preflyte booklet that Terry Melcher did not think much of Gene Clark. Without his songs, I don't think they would have made it.

They are on Vapor Records.

I don't think this site is updated anymore - but it is a great site: Byrdwatcher That boxset has also been re-done and re-released. I think a lot of the unreleased tracks ending up being bonus tracks on the re-masters. But - there seems to be no shortage of takes that they are willing to stick on various re-issues and call them bonus tracks. I don't know if I agree with the view of the Pre-Flyte sessions being all that great - I like the first disc better than the second one. I do like The Airport Song. It is interesting to see how they went through the deal of trying to sound like The Beatl

I watched that movie once - along with The Sandlot (1993) on The Family Channel last year sometime.

Now, I am listening to this - because I wanted to hear Clementine: Crystal Ballroom on 1968-01-23 I'd forgot how slammin' (as the kids say) New Potato Caboose is. This tape is cool - I sort of dig a bit of tape hiss.

I am checking that out right now - I'd say that is right. It's a nice groove.

The Steven Demetre Georgiou, Cat Stevens, Yusuf Islam Thread

This reads like something from The Onion - but, it is real: Yusuf Islam News -
I am not fond of him or Palin, but this is some messed up stuff. Fire hits Palin's church in Alaska

There's a new Heat Miser holiday special
Analogman replied to chumley's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Some cultural references I observed, and noted, while watching Miser Brothers Christmas, a sequel of sorts, to The Year Without a Santa Claus. Tinsel = Corky (Night On Earth) North Wind = Beethoven and Dr. Frank N. Furter (during North Wind's solo number) The Heat Miser/Snow Miser henchmen = Munchkins/The Oompa Loompas Heat Miser/Snow Miser = Al Gore's opponents/Al Gore (when discussing global warming) -
No Electricity, No Heat - New England
Analogman replied to Wilco Worshipper's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
That is one of reasons the power company gives when they chop down 100 + year old trees up the street from me. -
It's something I'd like to get into. There are actually several condemned/abandoned houses around here where I live. Urban Explorers Network

No Electricity, No Heat - New England
Analogman replied to Wilco Worshipper's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
There is a porch roof sticking out from the building here where I live - with no posts supporting it. I am surprised it has never collapsed due to the weight of snow. Although, we have not really had much of a winter for a while, until recently.
