  1. Ever see that photo of him and Jimmy in a crowd scene where Ross looks like a serial killer? Pretty funny.
  2. That one did not come up when I borrowed them last year - apparently, it's very hard to find. 3D - far out, man.
  3. I don't care to hear anyone sing the song - except for Richard or Joe Cocker - that's probably it.
  4. Well - forget about The Southern Death Cult and answer my question.
  5. There is some talk of this on Ross Ross Halfin's blog also.
  6. If you're into evil, you're a friend of mine - that should be spray painted on the hood of the car.
  7. Well, maybe you should. Put on that cool black jacket you have, go buy Back In Black, get in your Camaro, put Back In Black into the cd player, drive to the country, find some mailboxes, reach under your seat, pick up an M-80, light the fuse, throw it in a mailbox, crank up Back In Black, hit the gas, laugh like a madman, and then repeat.
  8. MB I think I am going to be snagging I and II pretty soon. Not III though - it is still 115 - do you know there was an addendum? That, I did not know. List
  9. Well, do you know the song Generic America by the great alt. country band that never seems to get their due, Blue Mountain? Stop being lazy - it does not get you anywhere at the end of the day.
  10. Paisley Underground I forgot to mention that one.
  11. I wasn't allowed to see that film (Jaws) back in the day - I was 9 years old when it came out. The usual: Salem's Lot, Phantasm, Communion
  12. Hopefully, people wake up and don't just cast their vote on the so-called family values deal, leadership in times of war, and religious beliefs of canidates this time. We'll see. I figure my state will go for McCain though - but I know I won't be voting for him.
  13. I think there is a definition - we just like to bend it. It's not opinion - it's the work of whoever makes up this genres names and time periods. If someone can offer proof that Buck Owens music was called alt.country in 1965, for example, then I will accept it. But, to me, and I believe Jeff speaks of this in the Kot book, alt. country was a mixture of country and punk/hardcore music. I, like many others, often say "I hate labels" or whatever. But, what do you say when someone asks you what kind of music you are into? I say alt.country (no one outside of people like you find here know
  14. I hope she listens to you - seriously. I suppose you have to know that time and place I come from, there was no talks, no sex ed, no anything. So, maybe I am a bit fouled. I also do not have any kids - that I know of anyhow. So, I suppose I am going by what I did as a teenager, what those around me did when I was a teenager, and other life experiences since that time.
  15. He's not a pervert - he's from Pittsburgh. Anyhow - once one learns about the friction, that is friction besides the friction they can make with themselves, it is all over. I don't think JC, The PTA, Doris Day, The FBI, CIA, or Mom and Pop, can stop it. Teenagers do what they do right? I sure did.
  16. You are jabbing at people - why? We may not like them - but we all know these labels exist - dad rock, speed metal, heavy metal, alt. country, punk rock, etc. The term alt.country was not used in the 60s (as far as I know) it was called "country rock", or as Gram Parsons called it, "cosmic American music." I don't think Townes or Stever Earle would much care to be called alt.country. To me, it is a movement that grew out of the Cowpunk and the punk/hardcore movement. Therefore, alt.country could not have existed until after bands such as The Clash and Black Flag were around and gone.
  17. Looks like he has had a make over, yes?
