  1. I think I read on the Ryan Adams Archive site that it was going to be combined with the Archive - but I guess it has not happened yet. It would be a shame to lose all of that information - hopefully, they do something.
  2. I was just reading the book about the making of the film - pretty heavy stuff. It's pretty funny to read what Ross Halfin has to say about Lars on his blog from time to time.
  3. I like the song Some Kind of Monster - I have not bought a Metallica album since And Justice For All. Youtube links: Metallica - The Day That Never Comes Metallica - Cyanide - Ozzfest 2008 (Official Live Version) At 5:05 it sounds like One - sort of, and then, Iron Maiden/Sabbath - sort of anyhow.
  4. The Metal Thread - maybe be something in there, from a few months ago - not sure. From what I have heard of it, it sounds overproduced with some sort of effect (Auto-Tune?) on the vocals.
  5. I have been listening to Live At The Boston Tea Party all weekend - I wish a re-master of Then Play On would come out.
  6. I like to watch the players playing. It was pretty dark at that show - so it was hard to see anything. Currently grooving to:
  7. No, not me. I was just watching - we were right up front. We did see him briefly after the show - but he shined people on - saying that he had to go get an MRI on his arm - or something like that.
  8. No, I don't think that sort of deal goes on anymore. Although, when we saw him, he did sort of yell at the audience for yelling out songs that he should play - but that is not a big deal. I don't think he cares much for people wanting him to play Whiskeytown songs.
  9. That is good. Tracy and I got a nice intimate semi-acoustic show - due to his arm problem.
  10. It looks they played a lot of new songs last night. What is the deal with the no meet and greet - someone threatened them or something along those lines I take it. From Ryan Adams Archive:
  11. That's because Wilco does not allow their shows to be put up at archive.org. He would have know this if he checked the list of bands that do not allow their shows to be put up there. Personally, I like to see shows put up at bt.etree.org - as you don't have to register or worry about ratios. Of course, this means you have to do the right thing - that is, seed and not hit and run.

I don't mind criticism of the band - I have criticized them myself. But - all these threads about how Nels sucks, SBS sucks, how they owe people various things, etc., is a bit much don't you think? That's what I meant - another one, among many. I have a feeling many people really want them to make Yankee Hotel Foxtrot over and over again. I think for a lot of the more recent fans, that was their initial exposure to the band - and that is what they think all the Wilco songs should sound like. Whereas, we know that all the Wilco albums are different, and hence, the next one will be di

This is yet another bullshit thread - going on about an album that has not even been made? Anyhow - what you said is like comparing Neil Peart to Cosmo Clifford. It is just two different styles, one drummer (in this case, anyhow) is not better than the other one - at least, that is how I see it.
  14. That's it - hopefully, this gets figured out some day.
  15. Speaking of such things - I hope when Sen. Obama wins the election - he will move forward on doing something about health care issues.
  16. That's cool. I want to go to the record store that is at the end of the road - on past McDonalds - as you go into town. The last time I was there, I found a book I had been after for a long time.
  17. I never got to meet him - but I met some poets he worked with.
  18. I have seen them in the Strip District - if I am up there this fall - I can get you one, if you want.
  19. Here's one: The Widening Spell of the Leaves - Larry Levis
  20. Oh really - I didn't know they were selling such things that long ago. Interesting.
  21. We've had this discussion before (several times?)- but it is amazing how much money a real (vintage) AC/DC, Stones, etc. shirt goes for these days. I have a collection of original rock shirts - I would not sell them though.
  22. I think that is because that sort of think is in - at Sears you can buy AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, etc. shirts. I never really saw any of those films that were made when I was a teenager until the mid 1990s.
