  1. Somewhere around here, there is a thread or a post I made about a record store that had been closed since the 70s - with photos - that was owned by some family in Ohio - some dudes talked them into selling it.
  2. How to get rid of the awesome bar in Firefox 3 For those who do not want it. Firefox add-ons Oldbar 1.2 I have never really messed with add-ons - but, I am thinking of getting Adblock 0.5.3.043. I have used nothing but Firefox for several years now. I only use IE when I have to - which is at work or some sort of deal like that. I was happy to see that my bookmarks did not disappear this time - they have in the past - when I upgraded.
  3. That is about the only thing I have ever bought on Ebay - record albums. I think the last one, was several years ago. Since I am trying to get all things Hendrix, I got Loose Ends and the soundtrack to A Film About Jimi Hendrix off someone there. It was sort of a whim - although, come to think of it, that is where I got Journey Through The Past and Time Fades Away, also.
  4. That reminds me what the guy who owns Jerry's Records in Pittsburgh said to me once - that Ebay ruined record collecting, - that is, people are more likely to put things on Ebay and try to sell them for a bunch of money, instead of coming to a place like his, and selling him the records.
  5. That's the tour where you saw them - the first show of the tour.
  6. That album was recorded over a period of a couple weeks - a few sessions here and there, if I recall correctly. In the liner notes of the Biography box set, Dylan says that he just made up some of the words as they were recording the songs. I think he referred to them as "dummy lyrics".
  7. Joke - In that show, a bunch of kids look at such things - and the dad does not bust on them. That's what I was thinking of.
  8. Making vinyl records the old-fashioned way Click on the link for more - with photos. The life and death of the vinyl album
  9. That is what you will have to do - scan it - unless someone here has it and will share it with you. I doubt you will find a high resolution image file of the cover out there anywhere - but you could try Google, it no one has it here.
  10. Yes, and one of his guitars - all for 10 bucks. On the serious side, I could have bought some original Morrison drawings once, and did not.
  11. When I was in HS, there was no Sex Ed what so ever - and, there is probably not now, either. They do, however, have a bible class there.
  12. I have a Hendrix shirt I bought around there somewhere - in 1985.
  13. Seriously, Altrock should petition the admins to have a pinned thread about Wilco TV appearances - he and whoever else can post in it, and then people will be able to know when Wilco is on TV.
  14. That reminds me of a Driving Ms. Daisy spoof photo I saw on the internets.
  15. I suppose that depends on if you view Hendrix as the same as John Mayer. Or The Knack as the same as The Beatles.
  16. That was my first thought when I saw the first post in this thread - as I think the average age here is pretty young, there is hardly anyone here that would have been old enough to see those bands. I know people who have seen LZ, The Beatles, etc., as well as, people who were at Woodstock. I hope to get up there and check out the museum next month. I think it is sad - the deal with those bands, where it is one dude and a bunch of Holiday Inn lounge players or whatever. I have seen some shows on PBS that feature such bands - pretty terrible, actually. But, they have to eat.
  17. I don't think I own any Dylan shows - but I now have hundreds of Jeff/UT/Wilco shows.
