I think people here are more likely to be less critical of Wilco and give them a pass on almost anything they do. I have a tendency to be too negative at times - I will freelly admit that. Maybe that is what separates the person who has thousands of cds/records/tapes from the person who merely listens to the radio once in a while - an overwhelming feeling of desire to speak freely on the music they are crazy about. I mean - I have done nutty things to get music before - such as skipped paying bills. I have also chosen music over friendships - I am not saying these things are right - ju

The Act You've Known for All These Years: A Year in the Life of Sgt. Pepper and Friends

Well, it does bother some people to see a band they adore allowing their music to be used to sell cars or whatever. It just rubs some people the wrong way - I figure if you did a google© search - you would find many rants against or making fun of bands that do this sort of thing. It's not unexpected. I am more surprised that so many people are not bothered by it actually. I agree that some of the stuff in that thread got off track and went somewhere I don't agree with - but at least it showed passion.

The admin who locks thread is not around every day, 24 hours a day. Plus - I am speaking of what I have seen in the past. -
That's it.

That's yet another can of worms - using dead rock stars to sell stuff. I found it particulary offensive that Jerry and Jimi Hendrix had their name/photo stuck on wine labels not to long ago.

I can see it in my head - but cannot astral project it to your head.

Right - or John taking back some control.

There is video out there somewhere that shows them fighting back in the day.

Wow - thanks. Is Jeff upset about all of this?

Of course, some people think it was too much - with all the overdubs, sped-up voices, ADT use, etc. Which is one of the reasons Music From Big Pink, John Wesley Harding and the like were championed as a return to a more simpler form of music making.

I don't think that Seville show was taped - I could be wrong.
-
That was at The Seville Theater - which was owned by Brian Epstein. Another version of that track was released on a Hendrix album called Hendrix In The West - which I have. The track is now to be found on - Blue Wild Angel: Live at the Isle of Wight.

This also makes me think of this short lived show: God, the Devil and Bob

I think things are too easy here - but - I probably would have been kicked off of here a long time ago if they were stricter.

That must be something. The other day, someone showed me a forum page from that place - every thread on the page was locked.

Has to do with IP address - I think.
