  1. I have some live shows from years ago. I don't know if she is still against taping or not. She was very against such things back in the day.
  2. I recall getting Canadian Amp in the mail back in the day. I still think Furnace Room Lullaby and Blacklisted are the best. I played those albums so many times.
  3. I recall reading a while back that Slash and Axl had began talking again. I figured some sort of talk like this would pop up:
  4. Truckdriver, Gladiator, Mule
  5. I think I bought that book for next to nothing a long time ago. At the start of every semester there use to be a guy selling used books in the student union. I am pretty sure that is where I found it.
  6. I like those type of oral history style books. When I first read about the new Gans book it was described as an expanded/updated version of Playing In The Band.
  7. I'll probably get it. Playing In The Band is one of my favorite GD books.
  8. The new Jackson/Gans book is out now also: This Is All A Dream We Dreamed: An Oral History of The Grateful Dead
  9. I have that. It is certainly one of the best rock documentaries I own. I guess the thing about this new book is that Zanes got Stan to participate in the interview process.
  10. I ordered the 2 disc version from Amazon yesterday. I guess I will get it sometime this week.
  11. I suppose I got out those albums due to the press about the new book that is out. I may have to read it.
  12. I'm listening to all the TP albums today: When you listen to the albums in order you really notice how the songs/sound changes. The first three have a definite sound and then it changes with Hard Promises and then again with Southern Accents. I have to say I end up skipping most of that album up through Into The Great Wide Open. To me - I really like the run of albums from Wildflowers up through Echo. I have not really listened to the last two albums enough to say anything about them. I have been reading about a Wildflowers boxset/deluxe edition that is suppose to be coming out sometime.
  13. The last few albums are not like the early stuff. Also - Max Johnston played with them for a while (Springtime).
  14. I am surprised I could not find the old Freakwater thread. It must have disappeared.
  15. They have a new album coming out this winter. They are now on the Bloodshot label. If you have never listened to Freakwater - listen to It Feels Like The Third Time first. Because that is the first one I ever bought. And I'm fantastic.
  16. I know someone who won some of those free tickets to one of the upcoming shows today. He was already planning on going to one show - so now he can go to two shows. He's a fan of John Mayer and The GD so I am glad to see he got the tickets.
  17. I can understand that. Thanks for the answer.
  18. Has anyone heard the re-master yet? I am curious about the sound before I go buy it. I say that as I recently got burned on the Old 97s Too Far To Care re-master. That thing sounds like someone went through the brick wall with the treble turned up almost all the way.
  19. I was thinking maybe there was a plain dvd release - maybe there isn't. I don't own a Blu-ray player or surround sound system.
  20. I don't know if I will buy this or not: The Beatles - 1 (CD/Blu-ray audio/video) - November 6th 2015
  21. I read some review a while back where the reviewer said something along the lines of "I hope they don't end up together" or something like that. I figured right away they had not read the books.
  22. One crime and some sort of running story throughout the books. I have had to read the books out of order - due to availability.
  23. I am now reading all the books. Or at least the ones I can get on my Nook from the local digital library. She's like that in the books also.
  24. That first album is great though. I had it on 8-track. They certainly had their own sound.
