That must have been something to be at one of those shows. It's almost as if the band were playing in your living room.

I'm listening to the Young Vic show (April 1971) from the Who's Next re-issue. If you have never heard it - you should check it out. I suppose you probably have - it came out over a decade ago. Anyhow - I am sometimes still amazed that I can listen to something that I recall reading about as a teenager - and never thought I would hear.

Thanks to a free Showtime weekend - I am getting to see the Atlanta Pop film. It seems to be a lot of people talking so far.
-
Plus that Waltz version was released on the first Bootleg Series release (1991). I am glad to see Farewell Angelina is on this release. Such a great song - I really like the Joan Baez version.
-
I think in that interview she says something about having "one song on her phone" or something like that.
-
Yes, the sound of him playing that Strat is such a great sound.
-
I wonder if Nick Offerman had something to do with getting Jeff to do the song (besides the posted story).
-
I have not listened to the Road Trips shows in a while. I am giving Volume 3/Number 1 a spin (Austin Texas, 11/15/1971).

It was sort of a throwback to the old days.

I'd say this re-master sounds great. I have to say Tear Stained Eye still brings a tear to my eye.

No bad.

I see Al Kooper got his story in the booklet. I take it the essays in the 2 disc version are edited down from what is in the other versions. I am not as much into Blonde on Blonde as I was when I was a teenager - but I will give the 2 disc version a play at some point.

I think I noticed that the other day. I don't know why I didn't notice it the first time. I suppose I am behind on my Beatles product buying. I never bought the last re-masters.
-
There is also the Live Anthology (4 cds) (2009).
-
Mojo Nixon - there's a name you don't hear everyday I read that Tom is going to have his own channel on one of those satellite radio channels now - instead of just a show.
-
I think I recall reading various things after their last tour. Some talk of a new album, and some talk that Axl had told them he was done for a while. I would think with Steven they would bring up his health issues. Which is partly what happened with Bill and Black Sabbath.
-
I would be surprised if he was involved. They will probably pull a Bill Ward SituationĀ® on him.

There is a message within the Canadian Amp cd liner notes about her dislike of ripping cds, mp3 sharing, etc. I think she was real anti-computers back then also.
-
I have some live shows from years ago. I don't know if she is still against taping or not. She was very against such things back in the day.
-
I recall getting Canadian Amp in the mail back in the day. I still think Furnace Room Lullaby and Blacklisted are the best. I played those albums so many times.
-
I recall reading a while back that Slash and Axl had began talking again. I figured some sort of talk like this would pop up:
-
Truckdriver, Gladiator, Mule

I think I bought that book for next to nothing a long time ago. At the start of every semester there use to be a guy selling used books in the student union. I am pretty sure that is where I found it.

I like those type of oral history style books. When I first read about the new Gans book it was described as an expanded/updated version of Playing In The Band.
