  1. I am hoping the next time HBO has a free weekend where I live I get to see it. We recently had one over the holiday weekend. So I was able to watch True Detective 2.
  2. There ain't nothing cheesy (I hate that word) about that album cover. Get the re-master - it has more songs on it. There are all sorts of great songs from the Lifehouse period.
  3. Has anyone heard the new song Bono has written for Paris? I have not dug around yet to see if it pops up somewhere.
  4. The only thing I remember about that album is Southern Pacific. Speaking of Neil - I recently bought the Buffalo Springfield boxset. I have cdr copies that someone gave me back when it came out (2001). I happened to see it on Amazon recently for 24 bucks new - so I thought that was a good deal. It is a good deal - but the box is now downsized. I believe the original release was more the size of a scrapbook.
  5. I think you may be right about the downsizing though. I recall reading that they had also sold some homes they had in other countries.
  6. I have those books. I think he is giving all the money from the auction to charity.
  7. I saw a photo yesterday of Ringo sitting behind the oversize drums from the Hello Goodbye film. I think those are in the auction also.
  8. I wonder if that bass drum head is a replacement? I say that as in the photos of his drums in the Beatles gear book almost all of the Beatles logos are cut out of the bass drum skins.
  9. Which is funny - because it has always been stated that John had the first one.
  10. That must have been something to be at one of those shows. It's almost as if the band were playing in your living room.
  11. I'm listening to the Young Vic show (April 1971) from the Who's Next re-issue. If you have never heard it - you should check it out. I suppose you probably have - it came out over a decade ago. Anyhow - I am sometimes still amazed that I can listen to something that I recall reading about as a teenager - and never thought I would hear.
  12. Thanks to a free Showtime weekend - I am getting to see the Atlanta Pop film. It seems to be a lot of people talking so far.
  13. Plus that Waltz version was released on the first Bootleg Series release (1991). I am glad to see Farewell Angelina is on this release. Such a great song - I really like the Joan Baez version.
  14. I think in that interview she says something about having "one song on her phone" or something like that.
  15. Yes, the sound of him playing that Strat is such a great sound.
  16. I wonder if Nick Offerman had something to do with getting Jeff to do the song (besides the posted story).
  17. I have not listened to the Road Trips shows in a while. I am giving Volume 3/Number 1 a spin (Austin Texas, 11/15/1971).
  18. It was sort of a throwback to the old days.
  19. I'd say this re-master sounds great. I have to say Tear Stained Eye still brings a tear to my eye.
  20. Two Guys Named Jay: The Jeff Tweedy Story How I Crawled Out Of The Ashes of Uncle Tupelo: Jeff Tweedy's Life and Times I Will Never Let Jeff Lynne Ruin My Band: My Life In Music
  21. I see Al Kooper got his story in the booklet. I take it the essays in the 2 disc version are edited down from what is in the other versions. I am not as much into Blonde on Blonde as I was when I was a teenager - but I will give the 2 disc version a play at some point.
  22. I think I noticed that the other day. I don't know why I didn't notice it the first time. I suppose I am behind on my Beatles product buying. I never bought the last re-masters.
  23. There is also the Live Anthology (4 cds) (2009).
