  1. Two press releases from the official Hendix website: NEW YORK, October 26, 2006 - On October 18, 2006 Experience Hendrix filed a complaint in the US Federal District Court in the Southern District of New York, seeking to enjoin pending auction sales by Ed Chalpin and one or more of his "PPX" companies in the Ocean Tomo auction scheduled for today, October 26, which has been promoted as a sale of numerous properties related to Jimi Hendrix. Chalpin and PPX Enterprises have owed a $727,000 court judgment to Experience Hendrix since 2003, and have made no payment whatsoever. The complaint all
  2. The family was just in a big battle with Leon (Jimi's brother) not to long ago. I have a Hendrix book by the title of Setting The Record Straight - which goes into detail about a lot of this stuff. The family went through major shit just to get ownership from MCA in the first place. They have done some weird things - but they most certainly have produced the best sounding cds of Jimi's music.
  3. This shit is weird - Michael Jeffery was a pretty shady dude - and (?) died in a plane crash. The Hendrix family has sure been through a lot of legal stuff the past few years.
  4. 'Lost' in a flash: Comments of the week If you're a Lost fan but don't have time to read all 300 comments in this week's discussion, take note of these 12 (seen here unedited): 1. Ben said- "The sub is back, we have a situation". That's how they got on the boat in the first place- a submarine. The "alien" in the preview for next week is a guy with an eye patch. Also, Charlie is officially the dumbest person on the island. Someone put him out of his misery. Posted by: jason | Oct 25, 2006 10:22:01 PM 2. 6. I forget the title - the cover has a photo of them standing around a chopper and Brent has a black eye - David Gans put it together - sometime in the 80s?
  7. That's as bad as the no smoking day. Actually, before I got a computer at home, I really only listend to music on the weekends.
  8. I also have some picture book and a GD reader.
  9. I have never read that PHil book. Last one I read was the "official" book. I see Steve Parish has one out now. I own the Rock Scully one - it's like one big drug story.
  10. I started taping in 91 - and I have all of mine cataloged.
  11. Tom Petty produced Hard TO Handle. It was for a movie - Band of The Hand?
  12. Although he is my own personal JC, I saw him back in November 14, 2001 and that was enough. I just watch clips of the 75/76 tour on youtube now - and I wish I could have seen one of those shows. Somebody Touched Me (acoustic) It Ain't Me, Babe (acoustic) (Bob on harp) It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) (acoustic) Searching For A Soldier's Grave (acoustic) (Larry on mandolin) (song by Johnnie Wright, Jim Anglin and Jack Anglin) Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum Just Like A Woman (Larry on pedal steel and Bob on harp) I'll Be Your Baby Tonight (Larry on pedal steel) High Water (For Charl

I have always thought that a good many of the people here learned about Wilco through Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and did not bother to go back from there - or did not like what they heard.

  18. I wish the hatch would not have gone away - I liked that place. I would actually like to live in one of those. Wonder what happened to the food drops? Their shelter is now gone - unless they start using one of the other ones.
  19. saw this on billboard this morning: Sonic Youth principal Kim Gordon will offer the U.S. premiere of her film, "Perfect Partner," and participate in a live performance of the soundtrack this Friday (Oct. 27) and Saturday at Montclair State University in Montclair, N.J. Gordon will be joined on stage by her husband/Sonic Youth partner Thurston Moore and longtime collaborators Jim O'Rourke, Ikue Mori and Tim Barnes for the screenings. "Perfect Parter," which Gordon assembled in tandem with artist Tony Oursler and director Phil Morrison, is a road movie reflecting her obsession with the ad co
