It stills seems odd to me. One week various band members are saying they are done - and then a while later someone in the band says they are going onward. I wonder if it will be whoever plays guitar in Gregg's band.
-
That's probably why they still cds - the old people GD fans.
-
Yea - if you can unblock the BBC player. Try Daily Motion. (Which is how I found the new Jonathan Creek episodes.)
-
I recall reading somewhere that they do a thousand more each time - or something like that. You have to say that in a world where cds are on the way out - it is amazing they are even releasing physical product.
-
I guess this is the story now: (by way of Jambands.com) (Just the other day I saw an interview with Warren where he said the band was going to cease.)
-
I'd agree with that one.

Everyone has a list - Iron Maiden should certainly be in there. But - there are several hard rock/metal bands that should be in there before them.
-
I think Paul was saying they don't have a standard - they pick and choose who gets in there. He used Robert Trujillo as an example.
-
Maybe he will do Synchronicity by The Police next.

Rock Hall Fame Ceremony Wraps Nirvana Joined by Joan Jett, Kim Gordon, St. Vincent, Lorde. . . I have no idea who half those women are - and I wonder why they chose women to sing Nirvana songs.
-
He was on the Parks and Recreation episode tonight.

I think I knew they sold the rights. I didn't know about the return though. I just saw a photo of the original four at the podium - so I guess they were able to get along enough to stand together.

I noticed Paul is doing a lot of press these days. I'd say it mostly has to do with his book. I was watching a video today where he was talking about being pissed of due to the fact they would not let all the KISS guys be inducted. (OR the ones they wanted anyhow) And he talked about how other bands got all their past and present members inducted. I can see where he has a point there. Eric Carr was a great drummer. Of course he is dead - but it would probably be nice for his family if he got in there. I don't know that I am much a fan of the Bruce Kulick era, but he should be in there too.
-
I am guessing that was out of an interview with Butch.
-
I am know I am in the minority here - but I don't care for his show or The Daily Show. They must have offered him a lot of money.
-
He was probably being interviewed before a show. Of course - KISS covered Anyway You Want It on Alive II.

I think someone should do one of those PBS films about The Animals/Eric Burdon and The New Animals. I say that as they have always been one of my favorite British Invasion bands.
-
One thing I did not know - they were on the Ed Sullivan show 18 times. I don't think it was said in the film - but Dave was one of the people in the room when Freddie Mercury passed away.
-
Jimmy Fallon and Stevie Nicks recreate the Stop Draggin' My Heart Around video - introduced by Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic.

The Dave Clark Five Return! was one of first non-Beatles albums I can recall listening to quite a bit. I still have it.
-
Well, it was directed and produced by Dave Clark himself. I only got to see half of it. I will catch the rest online. I think there were a lot of great British Invasion bands - but as you mentioned - they all fall by the wayside when compared to the big four. If you want to learn about how crafty a businessman he was, check out Rod Stewart's book. He talks a lot about Dave. And it is actually a pretty good rock start book.

Quite a lengthy article about Vinnie Vincent: The Long Kiss Goodbye: The Search for Vinnie Vincent Creatures of The Night and Lick It Up are great albums - at least I think so. Of course - he was not the only lead guitar player on Creatures of The Night.

1995 - I think
-
I use to watch the show back then also. In those days I always had a tape in the VCR - just so I could tape music stuff mainly. I think I have Pear Jam night on tape. Plus - other things - such as the night Salman Rushdie popped up. Does anyone recall when Letterman was on in the mornings? I seem to recall watching it in the summer of 1980.
