  1. R.E.M. Has a 'Lot of Stuff in the Vaults'
  2. Yea, that's nothing new. Willie Dixon waited until 1985 to sue them over Whole Lotta Love (You Need Love.) I think Jake Holmes also tried to sue them over Dazed and Confused a while back.
  3. Interview with Mac about his new album:
  4. I don't think I recall hearing you mention the 77 tour before. I think if I ever had the chance - I would have wanted to see them in 1971/1972/1973.
  5. There are some rather sad photos out there where he looks like he just got out of a POW camp.
  6. I don't think I ever actually listened to that album they made back in the day. I do recall having the first Firm album on cassette. The last LZ member solo album I recall hearing was Manic Nirvana. I actually saw Robert on that tour and have a signed cd of the album.
  7. I think Jimmy will have a bunch of young guys with him - or if not - it will be someone old such as Paul Rodgers. Or maybe he will just do a Jeff Beck and mainly play instrumental music. I wonder if he will have Jason playing drums on whatever he is going to do.
  8. Just think - back in the day you learned about that by word of mouth. And now all you have to do is go to Youtube and find it.
  9. Yes even replaced Jon's replacement. I guess there was a point when Jimmy/John Paul/Jason were rehearing with a new singer - but it fell apart.
  10. Don't forget what happens when you play Stairway To Heaven backwards. . .
  11. Far out, man. Well, there was certainly some evil in Led Zeppelin's music. That's part of what makes it so good.
  12. Under the ‘Macroscope’ with Nels Cline (Wilco, MMW, Grateful Dead)
  13. I still think it is fascinating to see him out in public - smiling, playing at the Olympics, working with charities, taking photos, etc. When I was a young hair farmer, I was taught that Jimmy was almost the devil himself. Plus - he gave surly interviews and always seemed to look a bit pissed off in photos. He seemed to be (the whole bad actually) someone you would not want to mess with.
  14. I hope he and Neil are not going to spend the rest of their time doing a Rod Stewart.
  15. I figure. I actually follow him on FB myself. He has some interesting stories - particularly about the old metal days.
  16. You can see your hero Ross Halfin there on the left.
  17. The same station is where I also use to watch SCTV. I watched Beware of Mr. Baker by way of Netflix yesterday. I have to say that guy doing the interviews should be hit a few more times. The film seemed like a TMZ segment with animation to me. I've liked Ginger Baker's drumming since I was a kid, but I would not call him the "best drummer ever!" or whatever they called him. He seemed like he needed a boot to the head also.
  18. When I was a kid/teenager his show and Benny Hill were on back to back on an independent station we use to get.
  19. He's been saying that for 20 years. (You know that of course.)
  20. Amazon now has the first three double cd versions for 13.88 each. I think I will be ordering the cds from there.
  21. Many years ago I could have bought the UK/Japanese version of that album - all the shows on 3 cds for 20 bucks and did not buy it. I have the 1997 re-master. Anyhow - since there is no DP thread: Made In Japan 40th Anniversary Boxset.
  22. The nice thing about Fargo is that it will be a limited number of episodes. When I first heard it was going to be a show I envisioned some sort of Twin Peaks deal. I am glad to see that is not going to happen. I wouldn't want to eat lunch with Billy Bob Thornton, but the dude is really good at what he does. The other day I was reading about Takako Konishi. I have not seen the documentary This Is A True Story (2003) though.
