  1. He was probably being interviewed before a show. Of course - KISS covered Anyway You Want It on Alive II.
  2. I think someone should do one of those PBS films about The Animals/Eric Burdon and The New Animals. I say that as they have always been one of my favorite British Invasion bands.
  3. One thing I did not know - they were on the Ed Sullivan show 18 times. I don't think it was said in the film - but Dave was one of the people in the room when Freddie Mercury passed away.
  4. Jimmy Fallon and Stevie Nicks recreate the Stop Draggin' My Heart Around video - introduced by Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic.
  5. The Dave Clark Five Return! was one of first non-Beatles albums I can recall listening to quite a bit. I still have it.
  6. Well, it was directed and produced by Dave Clark himself. I only got to see half of it. I will catch the rest online. I think there were a lot of great British Invasion bands - but as you mentioned - they all fall by the wayside when compared to the big four. If you want to learn about how crafty a businessman he was, check out Rod Stewart's book. He talks a lot about Dave. And it is actually a pretty good rock start book.
  7. Quite a lengthy article about Vinnie Vincent: The Long Kiss Goodbye: The Search for Vinnie Vincent Creatures of The Night and Lick It Up are great albums - at least I think so. Of course - he was not the only lead guitar player on Creatures of The Night.
  8. The Dave Clark Five And BeyondFifty years after the Dave Clark Five and the Beatles hit the American shores, Great Performances presents a look at the British Invasion in The Dave Clark Five and Beyond—Glad All Over, a two-hour special airing Tuesday, April 8, 2014, 8-10 p.m. ET and on Friday, April 11 at 10 p.m. – midnight on PBS.
  9. I use to watch the show back then also. In those days I always had a tape in the VCR - just so I could tape music stuff mainly. I think I have Pear Jam night on tape. Plus - other things - such as the night Salman Rushdie popped up. Does anyone recall when Letterman was on in the mornings? I seem to recall watching it in the summer of 1980.
  10. I am probably more of a GNR guy that I am Replacements guy, but I still find this sort of weird: (It sort of reminds me of the various metal bands whose members come and go - and play with people they use to hate.) (Although - according to Tommy, Duff and Axl get along.)
  11. One of the greatest movies of all time: Big Trouble in Little China (1986)
  12. Here is who the presenters are this year:
  13. There is actually a whole entire book about that show. I think the title is: Bob Dylan - Just Like The Night. I have not read it though.
  14. I still think it was Robbie who said that.
  15. It looks like they are hanging it up for now:
  16. Jun 6: Jeff Tweedy Three Rivers Arts Festival Pittsburgh, PA (That is where it all started for me - way back when.) I should try to find a ride up there.

    Pono

Check the Neil Young thread - There's a video posted in the thread that features various musicians and music business people talking about the sound. I don't think Jeff is in the video. You ain't going to hear it unless you have 400 bucks to spend on a PONO player.
  18. I wonder if that is a first - opening with Mountain Jam? He won't be there tonight either.
  19. I think it is great. There was actually a re-make several years ago. It did not last very long.
  20. Another scary show from my childhood. You can find it on YT also.
