If it was just Greg with a butch of new dudes calling themselves The Allman Brothers Band - then I could see it.
-
I don't think they are either. They have had a lot of members over the years:
-
I never bought the album - but as I recall they played some songs from it at the show.
-
That's great you have seen some Beacon shows. I only saw the band once - in 1995. Another quote from Derek:
-
Over on Facebook, someone suggested Devon and Dickey's son Duane playing with the band. That's an interesting idea - but do they have the chops? I am not familiar with Duane's playing, but I think Devon is in a couple of bands now and is more of a front man.
-
That's the only time I ever saw a show of his (actually CSNY) - on the tour for that album - Looking Forward.
-
That's right. He has said that more than once.
-
I guess they will either hang it up - or do a certain amount of shows every year with new guitar players. I would think they would hang it up - but I could certainly be wrong about that.

Kenney weighs in (Billboard):

Last night's setlist: (some great songs in this set)

If you grab that Midnight Riders book you can read all about that deal. A good bit of the book is about Greg and that trial.
-
I read the book last year - but I don't recall much about it. I guess there is a new band bio book coming out this year (ONE WAY OUT: The Inside Story of The Allman Brothers). I have the one from 1990s - Midnight Riders. I believe the band was not too happy about that book. Oddly enough - I did not get into the band until the early 1990s. I think I started out with Seven Turns (1990)/Shades of Two Worlds (1991), and then went back and bought the first album up through Brothers and Sisters.
-
I use to - but now I can not stand such films.
-
I recall seeing Live At Great Woods (VHS) at a record store back in the day. I never bought it though. I've read the new version won't have the interviews stuck in the middle of the songs.
-
According to Oteils's website - he is still in the band. It's good to see another archival show coming out. (From Rolling Stone.com)
-
I saw that on my Facebook page. I believe it was 60 bucks for the FLAC files - 97 bucks for the cds.

I'd say you got a point there. Some of the breaks were very sharp. The episode seemed sad to me. -
That was the Bill's in house video feed (I think). You can find other examples of filmed concerts from his venues on Youtube. Although I guess Wolfgang's Vault owns all of it now. There is a Chicago concert from Tanglewood I like to watch. I would think those shows were filmed on 16 mm film and then they changed over to videotape at some point. You can tell the difference of course.

That boxset is almost 150 bucks. Just about all the Small Faces cds I have do not sound all that great. I guess this was what Mac was talking about (from Billboard):

Thanks for posting that - I forgot it was on tonight. -
It seems that the company who put that up is buying up all that sort of stuff. Another great one is Deep Purple doing No, No, No. Not the greatest song, but the footage is cool.
-
Check out the Ballad of Dwight Fry from the Beat Club (1971). I love those Beat Club rehearsal videos.
-
Both of those bands have something in common besides The Replacements covering Black Diamond. That is the band Slade. Another band that should be in the Hall of Fame.
-
For those of you who can handle metal, check out Anthrax doing the KISS song Parasite. It is pretty cool. I'd say Anthrax should be in the hall, but I doubt it will ever happen.
