I still owe you that photo.

It took me a while to get the MFER to work - but I just put the almanac in my Nook.

Speaking of live stuff:
-
It must be. I thought that song went on and on - on the album version also.

He's listed in the album credits, isn't he? (That most people have never heard - as it plays at the end during the credits.)

If you end up getting them all - don't forget Another View and VU, plus the boxset. I have the Fully Loaded edition of Loaded that came out in 1997. I think there have been other re-issues since then. Of course - Loaded is a different animal than The Velvet Underground & Nico, White Light/White Heat, and The Velvet Underground. The only solo album of Lou's I ever got was New Sensations (1984). I don't recall anyone listening to him or The Velvet Underground when I was a growing up. I don't know how I ended up buying that album. I do recall getting into the band (VU) in 1985. I think someo

It would be nice to see that footage where they are sitting around playing acoustically.

I think The Notorious C.H.O. is the only comedy special of hers I can recall watching. -

I use to watch her show All American Girl (1994-1995). -
I recall a bunch of mullet hessians getting rather upset he played on a MJ album. I didn't really listen to it yet.

Yea - I am not buying the new album. It will be the first time I have passed on a new PJ album. It's cool to see them doing Leaving Here. That must be due to Eddie's love of The Who. The Who - Leaving Here

Fun fact: I was remembering hearing Under A Blood Red Sky back in the day and wondering why Alan Gratzer (REO Speedwagon drummer) was playing in a new wave band. I misunderstood young Bono when he was saying the band members names.

By way of Rolling Stone:

They must have got some tapes from Mountain Girl. That must be who Dave was talking about when he briefly mentioned acquiring tapes recently. According To Rolling Stone:
-
The Adventures of Danny and Mike (The two dudes from The Adventures of Pete and Pete) (Ok - after actually listening to this, it's pretty much crap.) Maybe they will come up with something better down the road.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Criteria (Terry Stewart):
-
I forgot about that - they did do a KISS song.
-
Interview with Blondie Chaplin: I saw that thread about the Brian/Jeff Beck tour. I would like to see one of those shows. Good thing there is Youtube. He mentions Wild Honey - that's a great song.

That's interesting. I'm not much for the 80s, besides metal bands, R.E.M., and U2 (and some others I can't think of at the moment.) I can't recall how I got to alt-country. That's probably the last "new musical genre" I will ever get into. I suppose I champion these old dinosaur bands from the 60s-70s because that is about all I listen to anymore. Whenever these announcements come out I like to look around at other message boards I frequent and see what they say. Sometimes they are about what we post here, sometimes vastly different.

The Deep Purple re-masters from some years back are really nice - full of liner notes, and extra tracks. Like the great song - When A Blind Man Cries. Deep Purple is another one of those bands I have been into since I was a kid. I think I learned about them about the same time I learned of The Kinks.
-
Now I am remembering that Christmas video they made. If Deep Purple gets in, it will be interesting to see who shows up. Since Gillian and Blackmore hate each other - I don't see them on stage together. Oddly enough, the photo Rhino has up at Facebook shows the Coverdale/Bolin line-up.

I suppose everyone has in their mind what the deal is all about. I believe I think of "how big a band was", "original sound (i.e The Cars)", "longevity" and maybe a few other things. What I listen to, and who I am into is probably very narrow compared to a lot of people here. But - I love KISS and I am also down with the Velvet Underground. And also don't forget how big the KISS Army is - those people are probably driving up the votes. I can tell you that I was a teenager in the early 1980s, and I hate Hall & Oates.
