  1. The Adventures of Danny and Mike (The two dudes from The Adventures of Pete and Pete) (Ok - after actually listening to this, it's pretty much crap.) Maybe they will come up with something better down the road.
  2. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Criteria (Terry Stewart):
  3. That was the first one. I believe there were several sketches featuring the character over a period of 4 years or so.
  4. I forgot about that - they did do a KISS song.
  5. Interview with Blondie Chaplin: I saw that thread about the Brian/Jeff Beck tour. I would like to see one of those shows. Good thing there is Youtube. He mentions Wild Honey - that's a great song.
  6. That's interesting. I'm not much for the 80s, besides metal bands, R.E.M., and U2 (and some others I can't think of at the moment.) I can't recall how I got to alt-country. That's probably the last "new musical genre" I will ever get into. I suppose I champion these old dinosaur bands from the 60s-70s because that is about all I listen to anymore. Whenever these announcements come out I like to look around at other message boards I frequent and see what they say. Sometimes they are about what we post here, sometimes vastly different.
  7. The Deep Purple re-masters from some years back are really nice - full of liner notes, and extra tracks. Like the great song - When A Blind Man Cries. Deep Purple is another one of those bands I have been into since I was a kid. I think I learned about them about the same time I learned of The Kinks.
  8. Now I am remembering that Christmas video they made. If Deep Purple gets in, it will be interesting to see who shows up. Since Gillian and Blackmore hate each other - I don't see them on stage together. Oddly enough, the photo Rhino has up at Facebook shows the Coverdale/Bolin line-up.
  9. I suppose everyone has in their mind what the deal is all about. I believe I think of "how big a band was", "original sound (i.e The Cars)", "longevity" and maybe a few other things. What I listen to, and who I am into is probably very narrow compared to a lot of people here. But - I love KISS and I am also down with the Velvet Underground. And also don't forget how big the KISS Army is - those people are probably driving up the votes. I can tell you that I was a teenager in the early 1980s, and I hate Hall & Oates.
  10. They should have been in a long time ago. KISS are one of the biggest American bands of all times. Really, they are what rock and roll is all about. I suppose I am a bit biased, I have been listening to them since 1976.
  11. Mike Bloomfield and Elvin Bishop - you can't go wrong with that combination.
  12. It must be about the same deal that allows whoever it is doing the Dick's Picks re-releases to put them out. It seems odd to me.
  13. I have 3 stereo systems. It's just something I would not buy unless I could get it on cd. I only buy old records, and never pay more than 10 bucks for a record. I was wondering that also. I am surprised whoever controls the Jerry estate didn't put the brakes on the release.
  14. It's good to see KISS, Deep Purple, and Yes on the list.
  15. I read this somewhere the other day - but what I read seemed to say it was just a rumor. It has now been confirmed: (Sky News)
  16. Some of that sort of stuff must be new - I don't recall those things in the old bootleg version I have. Although, it has been a long time since I saw the film.
  17. David mentions the Dick's Picks re-issues again in the chat from last night. And more 69 shows coming out. (I didn't get to see it last night. It's a good thing they archive these things.) Someone must have changed their mind - I recall reading an interview with Dick or David where they said they would never consider using an AUD tape. 2/11/1970 - It would be cool to get that one. (The must be why he mentioned they acquired some tapes from 1970/1971.)
  18. He has said some good things about the band in the past. I usually like to read what he has to say - but sometimes I think he is just plain wrong.
  19. Another not heard, but just read on Lefsetz's blog:
  20. That one seems more in depth than the Relix interview. I don't see how he could like that music, but, people like what they like.
  21. The Brooklyn Slide was the only album of theirs I ever owned. I gave it away to a friend of mine years ago. (It's sort of interesting that this announcement comes out - and those Coffee Creek shows appear on Dime a Dozen yesterday.)
  22. The Avett Brothers Sing Heavy Metal (Not too long ago I was watching videos of a bluegrass band doing Metallica songs - I sort of liked what they were doing.)
  23. Don't forget the acoustic stuff - You can go to Archive.org and listen to all the shows you want.
