  1. Yes, I said to Mrs Jackpunch at the end of Quiet Amplifier that I thought it was superb... And better than the album version. Mind, I still listen to the album quite regularly. I love Citizens and We Were Lucky.
  2. My two-penneth Audience reaction was very enthusiastic and there was clearly a lot of love for Wilco. Venue...it's superb and I'm pleased the acoustics have been sorted. I saw Finn Brothers at RAH in 2005 and it was marred completely by an ever rebounding bass drum. Band...on great form, I thought Jeff's vocals were the best they been live for some time. Conversely, I thought Impossible Germany was less than convincing. Nels solo initially was a bit of a shambles and they managed to get out of time at one point which is a rarity. Finally, I'm sur
  3. Utter shite 😂 (It was absolutely superb but in a standard British way of doing things, I'm saying it was shite.... I think Jeff would approve)
  4. Jamie Vardy is playing Steptoe in the remake later this year.
  5. Just shout if you need a lift. I'm actually in East Rainton, so about 5 miles from Durham.
  6. We're heading back to London tomorrow. We'll be at the RAH and then head home on Monday. I like these "concert holidays". Wilco in San Sebastian 2022, Calexico in Pistoia in 2024 and Wilco in Dachau 2025. My budget wouldn't stretch to a European Calexico gig this year.
  7. Well I was there and had a great time. Thought the band was on top form. Apparently the venue/square holds 1500 people
  8. I'm in Munich currently specifically to see Wilco in Dachau tomorrow. Then back to UK on Saturday to see them at the RAH, before the drive back up to Durham (home).
  9. I should also say, I love 10cc. Seen them (or at least GG) a few times. Brilliant songs
  10. I saw Crowded House there a couple of years ago. It was magnificent. Iain Hornal and a few others I suspect play in Jeff Lynne's ELO....and of course Jeff is retiring in a couple of weeks after is gig at Hyde Park for BST
  11. It was a bit of a tongue in cheek remark that the click bait press have picked up on him. Mind he's quite correct if only because it would have prevented Houston from warbling horrifically out of tune for 4 minutes.
  12. Just before I started getting interested in rugby. But yep an incredible player.
  13. Their last album was as "organic" as anything they've released in years.
  14. When I saw Durham I was thinking you were a couple of miles from me..... you're probably about 4000 miles from me ! I'm 5 miles from Durham in the UK
  15. Oh my word.....it's absolutely superb.

  18. Apologies, I realised after posting my comment it wasn't very clear. What I should have said was I wonder if they have had permission to reprint all or some the article that's in this months Uncut magazine
  19. I wonder if that's the article from this month's Uncut magazine. It's more of an interview/press release than any sort of review of the album.
  20. Doesn't worry me....YHF was rejected by a record label. Music journalists hated SBS. As with every Wilco record (except Cruel Country imo) the songs take multiple listens before they sink in.
  21. It has a repetitive 4/4 beat, that's the only thing I hear that's similar
  22. I was there as well. They were on top form and Spiders was the best rendition I've ever heard. Audience were a bunch of stiffs downstairs mind.
