  3. Looks .. Rather sounds good! Thanks for posting it I have already reposted it on another bands fan site ; Backstreets, lots of crossover fans there.
  4. Hmm maybe this is how they are getting around the issue they appeared as Peter Wolf and the J. Geils Band Personally I would like J. Geils back but I look at those other two gunslingers ( whom play a residency at Lizard w/ Dennis Brennan ) And I'm glad Peter chose them.
  5. Went to Seger / Geils Concert on a throwback Saturday night at The Boston Garden. The show was a great one from my viewpoint. Of course at the age of 69 Bob Seger is missing some range but, really it's the upper register and it's hardly noticeable . IMO you get more than your money's worth with Song Selection, a Formidable Band, and a Sold Out Audience w/ Energy. Local Heroes Geils opened and performed for the Hometown crowd well! Peter had a couple of gunslinging guitarists ; Duke Levine & Kevin Barry with him as well as other original members. He blasted through his numbers with the eneg
  6. Nice Turkey Day Present! When the camera pulls back and you see the full and onstage it looks like the Beginnings Album Cover
  7. Hmm I agree money does not buy a Championship our Sox made some terrible off season high priced acquisitions between 2011/12 and that was followed by Chicken & Beer in the clubhouse during the game .. then next year World Series Champs Now if we can get a reunion of Lester And the Sox it will be the Best Thanksgiving for the Sox since Theo had Thanksgiving with Schilling in '03
  8. Regarding boxed set .. Over on BTX ( backstreets) the consensus seems to be Amazon followed by FYE for about a 60.00 purchase price after discounts, but at this time of yr look around you may come up with deep discounts from other sources. A Great Era for ESB !
  9. Just got back to Boston from Austin caught a few live acts the singular one worth writing about is Eric Tessmer Band. Has played with Coco Montoya and others is quite talented in his own style yet steeped in SRV. If your "15" plans find you in Austin ck out The Friends Club he has a residency there.
  10. Damn being from Boston I was kinda hoping a former Red Sox player would be a Wilco fan ..Seriously very cool name choice Oil Can never let a microphone go unused and we were the better for it! Girls Guns & Glory at the old Harpers Ferry
  11. Although I am Lucky to Live in a Pretty Vibrant Music Scene here Between Boston / Cambridge Its the Primary reason for going The Live Music oh and the Food and the Beer and the .... Thanks fot the input ..
  12. Heading down to Austin for the 1st time Any locals that can recommend where the best local bands perhaps have a residency? Thoughts on setting some realistic expectations..
  13. http://www.ustream.tv/blog/2014/11/10/the-concert-for-valor-saluting-americas-veterans/ Thank you Veterans !
  14. Got there and chilled in the lounge for a drink after. In walks Ben the lead singer and sits next to me good talking with him Subjects covered Spider Stacey of The Pouges.. Wilco Lucero Loves Wilco.. I told him Ive noticed that there are crossover fans from both bands. If you get the chance check them out, wonderful Live uhmm just like our guys..
  15. Enjoyed reading your post. Got to Night 1 only and agree that it had a closing night of buzz both on stage and in the crowd.Glad they went for the throat with all those rockers! I liked the call on the opener too. Next time live for me will be Solid Sound so the recordings along with some You Tube of Port Chester and hopefully Chicago next month will get me by.
  16. Hmm I thought I read that all 3 nights were available on Roadcase I was at N/ 1 as well and wanted to purchase..However it's N/a on Roadcase when I just checked ... Did I move too slow .. Are recent shows only up for a week or two?
  17. Likely pulling the Trifecta* yep they are a fine band Very Talented a bit just a bit too much whiskey but the whiskey tainted voice and tight picking plus brass and piano all blend...Very well together IMO Pmd my contact info
  18. Decided back to Lucero for #2 in Cambridge Night 1 : 2 full sets somewhere around 34 songs
  19. Hmm very old phrase... heard at least 3 or 4 yrs ago attached to Wilco Maybe the 2015 tour will be sponsored by Wilco Jeans
  20. Thinking of one night only at this point but you never know could get caught up in them saw them open for the dropkick's it was great
  21. Lucero Night 1 of a 3 Night Reidency in Cambridge Hmm last time I did that was Port Chester* 1st time there for Wilco loved the joint
  22. I continue to make sure every election I take my ID in with me to the polling place. In voting for well over 11 years at the same place I have Never been asked to show my ID. Kind of shocking as I would be pissed if someone had stolen my right to vote, by getting there ahead and voting with my name & address. Outside of that I'm actually happy with the checks and balances of a newly elected Republican Governor in our largely Democratic state. ( MA ) Also was happy to vote for both on same sheet Democrats in local election and Republican* for Governor. Prior Republican Governors have been
  23. I got to both, and the loud & restless crowd on Tuesday ( Loved it ! )Someone, sometime should start a thread your top 3 Wilco shows so far ... For now I hope to buy the recordings of all 3 nights congrats to all whom made the trek!
  24. Thanks for posting the vid.. Hope there are more out there ...Night 1 was a lively audience and. I had no problem with that. If you notice w/ hand clapping it started in time, and faded as it usually does. It's not a movie, nor is it a classical concert I like some crowd spontaneity. Just not as long as the hijacked You and I song that I witnessed firsthand at Berklee.
