Although I've lived in the Boston area since 1979, I missed all the Foxboro shows as they were always over July 4th weekend and we were always in NJ for a family event. I've never heard this show and had no idea of the setlist, so when they opened with Playing>Crazy Fingers I was shocked. I don't think I've ever seen a Playing opener. Yes, the Wang Dang, never one of my favorite covers, was exceptional. And they knew it too, smiles on stage. As for the Hey Jude refrain in Dear Mr. Fantasy, doesn't bother me, I kinda like it. Much better than any of the Pigpen versions. The one downer in

I didn't have any issues with the audio-video quality, keeping in mind this was shot in 1989. Plus, being in a theater with folks up and dancing and cheering added the social/concert feel I don't get on my home system!

I went to Meet Up at the Movies tonight for the first time. Had a blast. Excellent show-Foxboro 7-2-89. Garcia was in fine form, as was the entire band. The mighty Grateful fucking Dead. Brought tears to my eyes. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Lovin The National's version of Dew on last night's Colbert http://www.stereogum.com/1876023/watch-the-national-cover-the-grateful-deads-morning-dew-on-colbert/video/?utm_source=sc-fb&utm_medium=ref&utm_campaign

Absolutely. It's a scintillating version.

In light of Courtney Barnett's recent appearance at the Loft and photo of CB3 with Tweedy, I sure am hoping for a CB3 appearance at SS'17. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Got mine this week, I listened to the bonus disc first. Thought it was excellent, very crisp playing, and the Spanish Jam coming out of nowhere is always a bonus. Now working my way through disc 1. Band sounding good. Another stellar HDCD production. I was at the June '76 Beacon shows, the level of excitement was off the charts. But over the years I never found the music all that compelling, especially in light of what came after in '77 and '78. But I'm definitely enjoying the quality of the playing on this release.

I also was at this show. Not a great run, but this was the gem.

Yes, we've been at a number of same shows, let's try to connect at this one. If not at a show before.

Powderfinger is my #1 favorite of all my favorite Neil tunes. Given that they were already out of time I had no expectation for an encore, so when they not only came back but came back with Powderfinger I had one of those moments of sheer bliss that only live music can bring.

At JazzFest he did what must have been a 15 minute outro to Love and Only Love. A lot of folks in attendance hated it and were calling out "this sucks" and "play some songs", but I loved every second of it.

Suggestions to replace a dying 160gb iPod Classic?
worldrecordplayer replied to Magnetized's topic in Someone Else's Song
I'm on my 2nd or 3rd iPad 128 gig (I don't know if its the classic or some other name) and I'm always hoping it keeps on trucking. I would search high and low for a replacement if mine craps out. -
Catching one of the Fenway shows. I hate seeing music in Fenway. But I'm going. Also talking with a buddy about making the Hartford show.

Another wet day in New Orleans. Neil and Promise of the Real absolutely crushed it today in the rain at JazzFest Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Thx for the heads up Lammy. I had already bought tix for shows last night and tonight when they announced JRAD. And then Warren's Last Waltz at the Saenger. That's the problem coming here at this time, I always want to split myself in 4ths. Just saw Jj Grey/Mofro open, waiting on Galactic at the sold out Orpheum.

JazzFest Day 3. The highlight today will be Beck, whom I've never seen. We'll see what else the day brings. Then tonight it's JJ Grey and Mofro opening for Galactic.

Tab Benoit and Los Lobos

Definitely no Paul Simon for me. Especially not with MMJ at same time. Today so far. Jonathan Boogie Long in the Blues Tent. Then today's big surprise set was Wayne Toups, a killer Louisiana Cajun band with accordion lead and 3 excellent guitar players.

At JazzFest. Wet day yesterday. A guitar day. Sonny Landreth, followed by Gary Clark, Jr., then Tedeschi Trucks Band with Jimmie Vaughn and Billy Gibbons. Today will include The Revivalists, acoustic Los Lobos and My Morning Jacket. Tonight, Lobos in a club.

Apologies if this was already posted here, but this week's SNL all Prince tribute show was something to see. Here's a link to stream the full show. http://www.relix.com/blogs/detail/watch_the_emotional_prince_tribute_episode_of_saturday_night_live

Appears to be true, Prince died. Oh no.

I should be reporting that I'm seeing The New Mastersounds tonight. But I'm getting under the weather and not up for a night out on my feet, so this will not be a Live! Tonight! for me. Bummed, would have been first time seeing them.

What's the deal with Wilco (The Album)?
worldrecordplayer replied to WilcoTheologian's topic in Just A Fan
I guess I should be embarrassed to admit I've always really liked You Never Know. Go ahead, heap boatloads of scorn and ridicule on my head, I'll have to take it.
