That's an even better score!

I scored a floor seat this morning from Ticketbastard , 6th row of Section D on the center aisle. Face value. I saw that lodge ticket for $125 on Stub Hub, but I thought it was being sold as a pair, so I grabbed the floor seat. I thought about holding out for a ticket drop later today but I couldn't spend all day looking for tickets Let me know where you end up. I want to see Tal, so I'll be inside by 7:30.

My 1971 throwback weekend continues with a spin through Three From the Vault, Portchester 2-19-71. I think it was Garcia who called this band the "shoot em up cowboy bar band", or something like that. Hits the mark. This was a couple of years before I caught on, but this was a good deal of the GD music we listened to at the time. The band really swings.

me neither. I'd like to get a decent lodge seat but not at hundreds of $$

I'm going to keep looking for a single, will only go if I get a good seat.

For several weeks I've been wanting to find some time to listen to some '71 Dead. Got my chance today, pulled out the Houseboat Tapes, Dick's Pick 35. Had a great time listening to most of disc 4, excerpts from teh 8/6/71 Hollywood Palladium show. Something about this era of the 5 piece band just crackles with energy, each member shines. And having Pig singing of course adds that great element. Note the Weather Report intro lick played by Bobby during the return to The Other One. I'll be sure to be listening to the 3 other discs over the weekend.

I prefer the uptempo Row Jimmy's of the '73 era. Same with TLEO.

If you find a pair I Will take one off your hands Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Here's what I've been skipping for the last many years: drums>space, Tennessee, Roses, Row Jimmy, all the Brent original tunes Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Boy, being in high school on LI not far from NYC in early-mid '70's, Hot Tuna was our #1 band. Even more so than the Dead. Still see Jorma and Jack anytime I can. It's been a lifelong relationship. I actually had tears in my eyes watching their acoustic set at Lockn' last year. I was right up front and could see a whole bunch of musicians standing on the side of the stage watching their entire set. Dave Schools actually took out his phone and was videoing Jack during his bass solo. Anyhow, after catching up on Thirty Seconds, for some classic Hot Tuna, check out any (really all) of the

Of those, I suggest you give Thirty Seconds Over Winterland a spin. If not just for the Jorman/Hot Tuna songs, Feel So Good and Trial By Fire.

I saw a lot of shows from '79-81, and from '87 until his death. I'm not talking about his playing or his vocals (although both really bummed me out when he first joined, but I grew to appreciate over time). I'm strictly speaking about his songs (and not his covers). To this day, there's not a one I want to hear.
-
Anyone seen the Who recently? They're playing Boston on Monday, tickets are expensive, and I just can't decide if I will be enthralled or depressed.
-
I can't think of a single Brent written tune I wanted to hear live. Ever.
-
Jason Isbell. First time for me, very psyched.
-
I was "off the bus" and didn't see or listen to the Dead at all from '81 until 9/87. I' have no regrets about missing those years. I don't think I missed anything, despite all the suggestions I've received over the years to particular shows of this era.
-
Yeah, same when the played Lockn' 2 years ago. People were bitching all over the place. Post festival, I noticed some converts on the forum.

Jason Isbell on Colbert last night http://www.stereogum.com/1862092/watch-jason-isbell-sing-if-it-takes-a-lifetime-on-colbert/video/?utm_source=sc-fb&utm_medium=ref&utm_campaign Anyone who was at the Beacon last night recall the set times?

Were Shovels and Rope also on the bill? If so, how long did they play?

Hope you had a great time http://www.jambase.com/article/widespread-panic-plays-several-rare-covers-in-norfolk

I'm a big fan, but also acknowledge his discography can be spotty. If you are not familiar, at least check out Rumour and Sigh, Shoot Out the Lights (with Linda Thompson) and Live from Austin (solo acoustic). '52 Vincent Black Lightning is his Impossible Germany: a fantastic song (GREAT guitar playing) that I've heard a million times and always think I'm going to be bored when he plays it again but I never am. Back to the topic, is this new album Tweedy spoke of from the Star Wars sessions?

SiriusXM is fine for my car or when I'm at the office and just listening background. Would never listen to it at home through my system. But then again, at home I don't listen to any of those streaming services like Sonos, Spotify, etc. I still like having physical media, vinyl and discs, with the artwork and track by track info. I'm surprised Sirius doesn't have a dedicated Phish channel. I'm sure Mr. Tinnitus would be the first to get that on his presets and then give up on Jonathan Schwartz's Gone Phishing show on JamOn.

We watched the Steve Jobs movie yesterday. Didn't Apatow write that? I thought he did, and had my ears perked for a Wilco tune somewhere during the movie but never heard one.
