I'll look for you and your cameras! And you know where I'll be. Plan is to head in by 8:10, will skip William Tyler tonight.
-
My mistake, I knew one of the first two was up. There's a lot of great Roadcase shows to be purchased from the Store.
-
Based on shows to date, Tyler plays 7:30-8:00, Wilco on at 8:30.

I think that's what they were. At Wally Heider's studio. Same time period as the American Beauty sessions. Barncard was in the right place at the right time. You can revisit it in that YouTube link I posted above. That's one album I would never think to weed out. Give it a second thought.

I should edit my post, also my adopted hometown. Hell yes. That was a very easy roadtrip to Portland. Less than 2 hours from downtown Boston, stayed overnight, and an easy drive back. And it was a great show. Definitely do it again.

This obit in the NY Times pretty much hits the nail on the head http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/29/arts/music/paul-kantner-of-jefferson-airplane-dies-at-74.html?_r=0 And for those who may not be familiar with Blows, I suggest you give it a listen. From the same sessions that produced Crosby's "If I Could Only Remember My Name." The recording engineer, Steve Barncard, has written extensively about those sessions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEdPfHBXqNc

Wilco offers official Roadcase releases on the Wilco web store. They don't release every show a la Gov't Mule, Allmans, etc. I know there's at least one aud recording up on bt.etree of the Pittsburgh show.

Wilco - State Theatre Portland, ME 1/27

The thing about the Cap is not only did they take up the chairs in the orchestra, but Peter Shapiro obviously spent some bucks refurbishing the place and putting in a top notch sound and light system. I wish the same for the Orpheum. ASAP -
He had a serious heart attack in 2015, and apparently another one recently. Bless It's Pointed Little Head is one of my top live albums of all time. I agree about Surrealistic>Volunteers. I would also add Blows Against the Empire. Damn.

Wow, in the string of rock n roll deaths 2016 has brought, this is a big one for me. One of my first really favorite bands as an aware teenager in high school, spent countless hours listening to the magic of Jefferson Airplane. I still do. Fly Jefferson Airplane. Hope Paul's in a flying toaster 30 Seconds Over Winterland.

I'm pretty sure you will find everyone in the lower orch standing for the entire show. -

Do you remember which Crossroads? I went to the last one at MSG in '13. I think you're probably referring to the preceding version in Chicago, the year the Allmans cancelled and Susan and Derek did a set. Anyone see any reviews of last night's show at the Apollo? They were premiering the new album. I read they were very psyched to be playing the Apollo. -

Having been at the State Theater last night, I'm totally with you on this. It was a perfect blend of open floor GA for those who want that, and then seats starting at the board, which start above the floor and gradually rise to the rear. Or I should say, to the number of bars in the rear. State is not much of a nice theater, the ceiling is very plain and flat. The Orpheum could be gorgeous again, like the Beacon. Getting rid of those seats, which defy current human size (were folks really that small when they built the place?) would be a huge step in the right direction. -

TTB has a YouTube channel where they post official videos. Just in case you weren't aware. -

The Orpheum ownership needs to do a renovation like the Beacon. Which is now beautiful. The Orpheum is such a pit. They put no $$ into that building, such a shame. A little clip of You Satellite https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-iCnL4GW6s -

2 quick things to add: Great to meet gods8apedhole, who had given me perfect info about the State and where to be if I couldn't stand all night. So nice to be able to say hi and chat. And her daughter too. After the show, I shared an elevator ride with Glenn and a couple other fans. The nicest guy, just what you would expect him to be. -

Well, my first Wilco show since Solid Sound, and my first show at the State. Well worth the trip from Boston. Never having been in that theater, my expectations were for a really nice restored theater with excellent sound. That is not the State. The sound was a little muddy, my friend and I were noticing that all night. And there were so many freakin talkers right in front of us. We also were annoyed, like Jeff. But just like Jeff said, the spirit was there and Wilco delivered the goods. I had an outstanding time. Seeing SW for the first time was better than I expected. Just love see -

Inside the State Theater for first time. Love the layout, with GA for first Hal of floor and then seats and bars all over the place. As opposed to the last 2 shows, I don't expect any lack of crowd energy tonight. Wilco will rock this place. -

Go for it! I'm heading north. Not that that's the reason you should go for it. What's better than road tripping for a Wilco show? OK, maybe Wilco in our backyard at the Orpheum. But still... -
Also got my notice, looking forward to getting this. I was recently reminded of the awesome audio quality of the GD HDD releases. Not that I haven't always known that, but last weekend a like minded friend was over. He had not had chance to really check out the new (used) speakers I recently got. I popped in one of the discs from the May '77 box, disc 3 of the first show, Scarlet>Fire to be exact. The audio quality is jaw dropping. I play all my discs through the same rig, but the sound on these GD HDD discs are of another world. He and I both would swear the band was playing in my r
