  1. I'm not camping anymore. First time we stayed at a hotel in Lynchburg ( or wherever Falwell's Liberty University is), last year we stayed in a bnb about 5 miles from the site, which was definitely much better. I don't remember the name, I assume they are booked by now. I can research and get you the name if interested. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. I don't take it as a personal insult. I just think it's a bogus stereotype and doesn't comport with my experience over the last 40+ years. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Of course the Deadhead references make no sense. I could mount a response but ultimately not worth the effort.
  4. I had already decided I wasn't going to Lockn' this year after going the last 2. Love that festival, if anyone's on the fence, go for it.
  5. The lines between the categories are very fuzzy to me. I don't get Wilco or Alabama Shakes in the "alternative" category. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. That is correct. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. I was at that Lou/New York show. That was great. Somehow I missed the HD/Warehouse show. Pretty sure I saw the Allmans do Eat A Peach at their last Orpheum run, a little fuzzy on that. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Watching Glenn on RNG this morning was yet another reminder why he's my favorite rock drummer (along with Russo).
  9. I recently discovered a new way at the HOB. I was there for Lettuce, we had seats upstairs in the lower boxes. When we entered through that door, we checked our coats right there. Unbeknownst to me at the time, at some point after everyone was in, they move the coats to the large coat check at the main entrance. So when we left, they sent us onto the GA floor to get to coat check. So we spent some time hanging by the sound board. So if you're upstairs and want to get down, just go "claim" your coat early!
  10. That poster is freakin awesome! There have been zillions of great Wilco posters (too bad for me I didn't like the ones for the Boston shows), but this one is something special.
  11. Did everyone see this about The National curated GD tribute album? http://viachicago.org/topic/51508-the-nationals-grateful-dead-tribute-lp-includes-wilcoweir-live-collaboration/ Holy crap, that looks great.
  12. Not only Weir and Wilco, but Courtney! Jim James, Kurt Vile and J Macsis, Ira...the list goes on and on.
  13. Does look good, but I went with Lobos on 4/29 (passing up JRAD) and Galactic (4/30)
  14. I've seen DT dozens of times in various configurations. No doubt he deserves all the accolades he gets. Does incredible things on the guitar, and not flash, but so tasty. Apropos of the convo here about EC, if you haven't seen this, take 54 minutes and watch this segment of the ABB with Clapton from the Beacon. I grew up with the Layla album and always a big ABB/Duane and EC fan. I was fortunate to be at this show, one of the highlights of my concert life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pb22MYqdugE And if you have a few more minutes, love this TTB tour with George Porter Jr. on bass
  15. A head's up, you likely know there are 10+ different stages/tents at Fest. Until they release the actual cubes, the daily schedules, you won't know for sure who will be playing at the same time on different stages. That being said, there is a certain order to the artists named on the daily schedule. I'm pretty sure the top billed artists will be headlining the different stages for the last set of the day. For instance, I expect Paul Simon will be headlining on the Acura Stage (the largest stage) while MMJ will be closing the Gentilly Stage (the 2nd largest). Those 2 stages are at opposite
  16. I agree with all of that Shug. It's been on my mind to post something exactly like that, but then I can never muster the energy for putting all my thoughts together in a coherent writing. Thanks for doing that. I'm not be any means a Clapton fanatic, but to my ears he's always been among the absolute best electric guitar players until perhaps the last 5-7 years where I've seen a slowdown of his fingers. It's also stunning to me to hear folks say he's an overrated guitar player.
  17. So I see I'm not the only one whose posts from Tapatalk on an iOs device include all that gibberish
