I had never heard of this singer until this week when my son sent me a link to the NPR "First Listen" of her new album New View. Really liking this new album. I'm sure folks around here must know her, and Fiery Furnaces. What's people's take on her? Should I be listening to her previous work? Anybody seen her live?

Feb 6th Brooklyn show song request! Can you help me!

Keep those votes going folks! -
Wow, that's a great lineup. I would love to get to this one. I just booked JazzFest with a buddy, don't know how many more festival weekends I have in me, or how many more weekends my wife will put up with me disappearing. My wife has always been awesome about me hitting the road for concerts, even when we had 2 little kids at home. I also have Lockn' on my tentative schedule. Decisions decisions.

Love that, my trainer turned me on to that a number of years ago. Had never heard the Black Album, or listen to Jay-Z at all before. Would work out to it. It's a fun album.

SRV is listed in the liner notes as a member of the band on "lead guitar." Not listed as to any specific song. Nile Rogers is listed as "guitar." I assume from that SRV plays throughout the record, or at least every guitar lead on the record.

Came home from work tonight to play some Bowie vinyl, which I haven't done in years. I get to Let's Dance, and I see in the liner notes SRV is the lead guitar player on this album. I had no memory of that. Definitely snapped my head back. RIP Mr. Stardust/Thin White Duke. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

That will likely require a trip from Boston. Just started listening, 30 seconds ago! That will likely require a trip down from Boston. Will be a tough ticket.

Shocked to get this news alert this morning. Spent time on Friday listening to his new album. With the release of the new album and his birthday last week, his name was present a lot in all media. Never caught a word of his being ill. Wow.

I'm seeing 3 shows, Portland and 2 Orpheum. Here's my ballot stuffing requests: Portland: I Must Be High (my ringtone) Orpheum 1: She's A Jar (wife's favorite Wilco song) Orpheum 2: Summer Teeth (my favorite Wilco song) Any help would be welcome. I'll ramp up my Too Far Apart and Blue Eyed Soul requests -
Who are the bands whose new albums you will ALWAYS buy?

Just saw that Courtney and Depreston are the latest Song Exploder podcast treatment. Haven't listened yet, but have the podcast downloaded and cued up to listen to during my morning commute. Should be good. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Been thinking about the chances of getting the full Star Wars treatment. Particularly those stops where they are doing 2 shows, like Boston. Feels like they should keep doing it so everyone gets to hear it as a set piece, but I'm seeing 3 consecutive shows so I would be ok not hearing it each show.

I have only his last 2 albums (don't even know if there are others). The title song from Walking on a Pretty Day is my favorite of all the tunes I'm familiar with. My wife and I both like both albums; something that I can put on the turntable knowing she won't glare at me! Nice, airy sound. Worth checking out. Never seen him live. I think he was in TWOD

Not necessarily "live", and not "tonight", but last night I watched the Phish webcast from MSG. Killer second set. Love a good couch tour. Happy New Year everybody. Anybody going to see some live music tonight???

Funny, I pulled out my Old and in the Way vinyl for the first time in years last night to play for some bluegrass fans who had never heard it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I don't know the back story there, what's up. Bare Trees was a major album for us in high school, still think it's a great one. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Same to every word of that ( except I didn't get to hear it tonight. Tomorrow). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Love the Fillmore East run in April '71. Particularly the DS>St. Stephen>NFA>GDTRFB>NFA segment to end 4/28, and the final Fillmore East performance on 4/29. Among my favorite shows to listen to.

I'm with you.

Older dudes. That's me. Except older. I have photos of me from '74-75, my cut off jeans shorts are way too short. I was 17. My daughter gets horrified any time she sees those photos. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I was in the house for this one, front and center (13th row). What a show that was. I'm not in a position to compare and contrast it to other DS's of the era, but this night was a special one. I've been known to say second set 9-20-90 was the best single GD set I ever saw.
