  1. I wished for it, but had NO HOPE that it would actually happen, I am STUNNED!
  2. Yeah, but one was can't win so that was probably 12 min or so. Tear Stained Letter, depending on the guitar solo, can go on, too. I like those! Great opening two songs from wilco, I was just wishing again for wishful thinking! Far Far Away!
  3. Charlie Sexton, hell yeah!!!! That has me stoked. Nothing against Robillard, but I love Charlie Sexton's playing. Very nice set from Wilco, too. Lots of goodies for my friend seeing them the first time, stuff I sent to him to get him into Wilco like Ashes, At Least That's What You Said, Via Chicago. And for me Say You MIss Me is a treat, along with I Must Be High. Looks like a great setlist to me.
  4. Seems no Wilco fans from here went, nor did any Jacket fans from their messageboard go to this show, no reports at all yet, nor on Facebook or Wilcoworld. Where is Bbop and why is he apparently not seeing this tour?
  5. Did they play Passenger Side and Airline to Heaven? Discrepancies in reported setlists.
  6. I want to hear Wilco and Thompson play Sloth or Calvary Cross! Nels and RT soloing away, too much!!!
  7. Did they play You Are My Face? Wilco's official Facebook page does not have it listed. Maybe it was an audible not on the written setlist?
  8. My Morning Jacket: The Dark It Beats 4 U Gideon Wordless Chorus Phone Went West Wonderful I Know You Rider (w/ Weir) Circuital Victory Dance E: One Big Holiday I am LOVING that both Wilco and My Morning Jacket, my two favorite bands currently active who are arguably still in their prime, are mixing up their setlists so much! Kudos to them! I wish I were seeing lots of shows on this tour, I had no idea they were gonna do this.
  9. Me, too. We get Ryan Bingham instead. Maybe he'll be better than I'm expecting. I hope that doesn't kill my chances to hear Wilco do Grateful Dead songs.
  10. Really? I mean, you can see a common Wilco show of them doing the same old versions of the same old originals anytime, anywhere. You are likely never gonna see Wilco play most of these songs ever again. I guess folks are different, but hearing them do a bunch of songs I've never heard before sounds awesome to me, but I love the covers. Wish I could trade places with ya.
  11. Nope, definitely not the 87 tour. Its 1980 or 1981. I would never confuse those two completely different tours.
  12. I have a Dylan bootleg from Europe in 1980, I think, definitely the tour for Slow Train or Saved, and he opens the show with Like A Rolling Stone. That's a bold move to open with your biggest hit, but when it works it can really pay off. I usually don't like AUD recordings, but on this one you can hear the crowd totally into it and its a pretty inspired performance. Not sure how often he was opening with that song, but it sounds pretty special on this recording. I'd guess that most here either hate or have no respect for the Eagles and their incessant reunion tours, but they did the same
  13. remphish, what was the song you requested and got to hear? Something unusual?
  14. Part of my problem is I've seen Petty close to 20 times going back to 1986. He just doesn't vary the setlists enough to keep me excited after I've seen him that many times already.
  15. I went on Sunday night, we got a full length show and I was reasonably happy with it and it was about what I expected, but it was far from my dream "deep cuts" setlist nor was it terribly exciting for me. They played about 3 or 4 songs I'd never heard them play, which was cool (House In The Woods, Woman In Love, Tweeter and The MonkeyMan) but the majority of the setlist was still stuff I've seen over and over and over again. We got just a single song from each of the first four albums and they were all (except Woman In Love) over-played warhorses (Refugee, American Girl, Listen To Her Heart),
  16. Well, Europe '72 has so many overdubs, it practically IS a studio album! Seriously, I'd go with that album for a first timer. The songwriting is so strong and the basic tracks were from live shows, so you get the energy of a good Dead show but with way better vocals! I've consistently encouraged folks trying to get into the Dead to try Europe 72. It also has some good jamming and spaciness in the prologs and epilogs to Truckin' and Morning Dew. And if you get Europe 72 Vol. II you'll get a great Dark Star and Playing In The Band and a bunch of other good stuff that is very high level.
  17. Dave Grohl definitely rocked, even if you might not like him or his playing. I feel lucky to have gotten that sit in, although I'd MUCH have preferred night #2 in LA with Mick Taylor on Sway and Hear Me Knockin'. But yeah, itd be so much better if they had their peers/heroes sit in instead of current pop stars. If Keef was choosing 'em, it'd def. be a different story. No question that Mick is choosing the guests.
  18. I'm going on Sunday and I'm freaking thrilled! I hope its in the same league as the Fillmore run in 1997 or even the run in 1999. I've been religious about not checking setlists on this tour so far so I can be surprised on Sunday, so I won't be participating in any discussions until after my show, though. I'll give a full report then. If you have any report on the logistics of getting in the venue, how long the line was a hour before show time, getting a good spot inside, how the sound was, etc, I'd love to hear it if you'll humor me and not tell me any details of what they played. Feel
  19. thanks! I'll do some listening based on your recs ( a few of those I'm already familiar with, but not all of them)
  20. Mountain Bed, would you care to pick and list your 10 fave shows from 1984 for us? I need some suggestions to track down. Does 12-31-84 make the cut? I dig that first set and the Shakedown opener. Greeks from 84 have some good moments, too.
