  1. dude, i was in a swedish dance band at the height of the genre's popularity. i lived those pictures and could tell you some stories.
  2. 'and you wanna' be my latex salesman.'
  3. 'Guess Who's Coming To Dinner...for the Next 4-8 years.'
  4. and in further developments, while I still thankfuly have a gig, i'll be reporting to new boss in a few weeks. guy i work for now is probably me second favorite manager of all time. damn you, re-org!
  5. jobby job vibes to everybody seeking employment. i'm okay, but we just went through another massive 'workforce reduction' where my sector was hit the hardest. more work friends gone, such a bummer.
  6. are any of you jobseekers opposed to wearing a french maid's outfit?* * males will have to provide a picture prior to submitting a resume.
  7. right on. i make sacrifices every day (as do we all) for our kids and family...i look at my vote as a hopeful investment in both mine and their future, as corny as that sounds. i don't think (and never thought) he'll be able to completely right the ship in 4 (maybe even 8) years, but that the mega-huge cruise ship has veered so off course...better to start sooner than later. that said, i'm hopeful but still scared shitless.
  8. PRINT and adhere w/ scotch tape and/or glue stick. (again, this is obama)
  9. Free sticker from moveon.org. For a little more scratch you can get a handful of them...I ordered 5.
  10. if it was the only reason, sure. you have a perfectly vaild point that most people don't vote for someone for one reason only...but there was some initial reaction from some female hillary supporters that made me question that. quick question though, you wouldn't blame a black person for voting for Obama based solely on his race. Nor would you blame any non-white person (Asian, Latino, etc.) for voting for a candidate of their own background for that reason. what about a white guy?
  11. i just discussed the voting by African Americans for Barack because he is African American being racist with an African American coworker and he looked at me like I was nuts too...because i was spending any time whatsoever trying to convince some crazy old white guy on the internet that what i actually meant was that it it could be considered racism if it was the only reason they voted for him. then he called me a cracker and told me to go watch some 'everybody loves raymond' on youtube and/or listen to some sheryl crow. i responded by saying i know dave chappelle and david allen grier is no d
  12. speak for yourself, lou. i really don't need reminding from you or myself, because it's impossible to get images like that out of my head. and, as you've boiled down this entire conversation into 'accusing black people of racism for voting for Barack no matter what the reason was in their hearts and minds'...i'm going to join mattz in banging my head against something. have fun!
  13. reccomended it to who and for what purpose? jesus, every time i'm out you pull me back in! are you still saying we have no concept or understanding of the severity of the height of the civil rights movement?!
  14. i just did the same thing on my blog. the 2-3 people that read it on a regular basis are probably ready for me to go back to talking about old sci-fi movies, comic books, new wave music and tennis shoes. i think it was my original post that sparked the whole thing and it wasn't my intent either. it just hasn't been easy to quit political talk cold turkey.
  15. then i'm returning the favor for what you've done for me ~ a bazillion times.
  16. not to be lou, have you ever been passed over for a job because of it? to be more fair, do you think that nobody has ever been unfairly passed over a job because of it and spoken/unspoken gender/race 'quotas' at a company?
  17. #2 could have been out of security concerns for his family or, more likely, the length of his speech vs. the age of his kids he'd be forcing to stand up there to sit still for it. everything else described just about any politician.
  18. touche. actually, not really. i'm not 'outraged' by it it at all or think he should be banned from the airwaves, but what an egotistical idiot. mmmm, not really or maybe i don't see it in realtion to affirmative action. or, in a larger sense, if helping said race is done at the expense of another that it isn't racist. or something. i'll agree w/ you that not every race-based action is negatively racist, but...if said action is based solely on race...how can it not be racist? i think the issue is the intent/and or degree you place behind the word.
