A few tracks from... Really kind of like it...anybody know if this worth getting the whole thing?

really fun show on Saturday. i'd post a setlist if I had one...opened w/ 'flying high again' from the new one and never let up. the encore started w/ a couple of minutes of 'underwhelmed' w/ just Murph and their keyboard player...wish they would have played the whole thing AND they didn't play 'if it feels good do it'. 'money city maniacs' and 'losing california' made up for it. my buddies who have seen them the past few times they've swung through chicago said they are looking a little old and weren't as energetic, but I never would have noticed. i'd see them again. met Murph and Jay afterw

i'm enjoying this more and more w/ each listen and have to agree that cherry bomb tune is the standout.

New Tune - 'Light To Follow' I really like it, actually. All the little things I dig about the Spree...fun stuff. -
New Beastie Vid - 'Off the Grid' i like it...like the post on stereogum said, once you get past the first two mibutes of space funk...it turns into a real cool jam.

thanks for dashing my hopes to the rocks...i really thought this might make a difference.

I only skimmed it over, but it immediately struck me in the same way it did Kyle. Not super hook laden and what i've heard I like better than Gimme Fiction. I'll give it more in depth couple of listens as the week goes on. Thanks to Boots for the help!

It's not that much more effort to type "I think" in front of a statement. No, I don't think you forgot to add it, instead you didn't feel like/don't care if there's a difference, and that's what bugs me.

I think this thread sucks...but i'll re-read it a couple times in case i'm missing something.

Help a brotha out. Thanks!

Never mind...figured it out and you are correct sir. A fine beverage...and a good mixer!

I said it another thread...somebody brought up Phish and this album reminds me of a Phish record w/out the goofiness. I actually like Phish, but i'm not sure if I like Wilco doing Phish-like material or not. They started down that path on AGIB though, so i'm not surprised. Before anybody refutes...you have to throw on Phish's 'Billy Breathes' and listen to it a couple of times until you can see the comparison because my comparison is a grower in concept.

oh man, that IS solid. where on there are they playing the new tunes though, Biz?

but you weren't just saying he was an asshole. As I said earlier, I agree that he was a horrible man for those same types of reasons...but how you use those things to rationalize taking solace in or justifying his death isn't in any better taste than shit he spouted off. you aren't just some random asshat either, that's a copout.

so, you think there is a sliding scale and I think it's just as ugly...we agree to disagree.
-
Neither do I...but if part of the reason one feels he made the world a worse place was due to the things he said and the way he said them, you think they'd try and keep it based in some realm of civil discourse.

'good riddance'or 'one less douchebag' or whatever is no different. my point on taking a high road still stands...unless I missed something. I guess I find the double-standard fascinating. Sorry.

I can totally understand why somebody could have little to no respect for the man...much like bobtothebob, I had none for him for the same reasons. He said some horrible things in the name of God and completely contradicted everything his faith is supposed to stand for. That said, to say someone deserved to die because you disagreed w/ their beliefs and they way they lived their life is pretty sad, whether you are doing so because they are gay or because they hated gays. You can act like he did or be a better person if you think it's so wrong. That's all.

I bet they said the same thing about Hitler. Anyway, Falwell most definitely spewed a lot of horrible and unjust things in the name of God...he'll have to deal w/ that. That said, hateful rhetoric is hateful rhetoric be it aimed at one person or entire groups of people...glass houses, stones, etc. Thanks!

Thanks and God bless! Fixed it!

that was pretty good...you sure you only got a 1.2?

Reductio ad Hitlerum within the first page. Well done.

Wow. No Chicago date? You really have to get the piss bored out of you live to really get the full-on experience of how fun they are. Last time they were here, we ended up going to their second show the next night and dragged another friend with us. -
Fragile Army Mash-Up An 8 minute synopsis of all the tracks from the upcoming Spree album. Didn't think i'd be interested, but I am after listening. More fun stuff.
